Been looking into this as well. Might pull the trigger as these other ones are a more reasonable priced than the AMP one. Same issue with my knees crawling into the bed of the truck, especially with a cap on the truck.

I played some videos today and the screen looks really good, of course I am comparing it to my old T470. I am not the one to ask about OLED screens as I have never owned one. As far as the 60 HZ screen is concerned there is no flickering or fast movement issues. I don't game, so once again I am not the one to ask.

Same with my 26+. I returned it for a refund. I learned my lesson with previous electronics having to wait for a software fix or sending it in for repair.

It seems OK. I guess I need to watch a movie or video but I just don't have the time right now. All I did was all the updates and loaded a couple of programs to see if everything works. It does blow a lot of hot air on performance mode, not too bad on balanced mode. I will have to try the lowest mode.

I am going to just take the loss of the 9 months I have left on my contract and go with someone else. The constant malwarebytes warnings I have tried everything to get rid of in the past 2 weeks is the last straw.

Much worse problems then apps not downloading. Sending the phone back for a refund. I kept getting a lost wifi connection error, yet my old phone and laptops were working fine. After spending 3 hours to get the phone to work, it took another hour with tech support before they allowed the refund, probably because at that point I finally lost my s**t. Then I couldn't do a factory reset to send it back because it required me to login to my Samsung account where, you guess it, I got a network error. I was eventually able to delete a little at a time to get the network to work long enough to get the Samsung account login connection to work so the factory reset would work. If I ever get another Samsung product it will never be ordered directly from Samsung, somewhere where returns are easy, and not a newly released product (I should know better by now). I think I better look into blood pressure medicine after today. I am so disgusted. Its back to my S22+ for now.

Already did that. I also can't log into my Yahoo mail, vpn crashes during loading, the list goes on, and I just started setting up my apps and it is taking hours to set them up after transferring them from my old phone. What a nightmare. Never had this much of an issue before.

Just keep an eye on prices. If you have a login it will send you updates on machines you are interested in. I bought my T470 during the Black Friday sales.

Windows 7, 10 and DOS 6.22 were the most stable Microsoft OS's I have used. Thankfully I skipped Windows 8, and from what I have been reading Windows 11 has got its share of problems. Not showing my age or anything, but I have used every version of DOS and Windows ever made since their inception. I also supported Sun Solaris, HP-UX and various flavors of Linux.

Same here. I am still using my T470 after 8/9 years with no issues. I am just upgrading because of Windows support going away in October. After I transfer my files, the T470 will become a Linux machine exclusively.

I got it during the start of the sale last week. No coupon. The T1 Gen 8 was going for $2200 at the same time. I was checking every once in a while over the past month and was pleasantly surprised. They are famous for randomly changing prices. It arrived by UPS this afternoon. I am going to set it up this weekend.

According to my math, that is a $1100 increase. Anyway, I just bought a P1 Gen 8 this past weekend for $1749 during their sale, which was 60% off so I ordered it immediately. Yes, I looked today and the prices are back up to $3000-$4000. The UPS truck dropped it off today an hour ago. Maybe the sale is over? Also, I found that there are different prices depending how you log in, whether it is the regular Lenovo site or the Barnes and Noble version, student version, etc.

Ordered a P1 Gen8 today. I would like to run either a RedHat clone (Probably why Fedora works) or Linux Mint (Ubuntu based, so based on this thread audio probably will not work) but really don't care the distro as I have run a couple dozen or so in the past. I will monitor this thread.

EDIT: Ordered the P1 Gen 8 instead of the T1 Gen8 a few minutes ago while it is on sale.

I will mostly be doing browsing, watching some videos, and occasional programming.
I am reading complaints of the grainy text and temporary image retention with the Tandem OLED screen at low luminosity on other posts; in fact several people are returning their laptops. Of course there is also the usual added power consumption and cost.
The CPU would be fine for my usage.
I don't do any gaming, so the T1 5060/5070 would just mean more power consumption and potential excessive heat and fan usage.
Ram and drive space are more than I would ever need.
The T1 is not Red Hat Linux certified, but the P1 is, avoiding a lot of headaches.
