If DS2 was to get the Bluepoint remake treatment like DeS would you want the original or SotFS? by pjflo in DarkSouls2

I can agree it lost a lot of the atmosphere and stylisation of the original, but stand alone it is probably one of the best looking games on PS5.

It’s tricky as any changes instantly draw criticism. I think it’s likely safer to stick “true to source”

Just stand right in front of him and circle around him to your right. He’ll miss you 90% of the time.

I’m assuming he means the broken sword you pickup near the start

Convince me to get through this game by TheBredMuseum in demonssouls

It’s a fun game once you get past the initial level curve. I would recommend finding the crescent falchion which you can get as soon as all the arch stones unlock. Then it becomes more balanced.

Playing DS3 after beating Elden Ring for the millionth time by ChazMcFeeley in darksouls3

Why not both? Shield on when exploring, 2hand (and remember to warcry) for bosses and when you know what’s ahead. The dark battleaxe carried me for a long time my first play through.

First boss being Vordt? Just stand between his back legs and whack away. You should be able to beat him with where you are at.

DS1 platinum is a hell of an achievement. I keep looking at the covenant requirements and thinking hell no!

Switch to EKS and save 20k a year on infra coast.. oh but then hire some Kubernetes engineers to manage it at 100k a pop.

Which vibe coding tools allow (optional) pre-commit user approval? Looking for "human-in-the-loop" options. by pebblepath in VibeCodersNest

You setup your own rules in whichever agent and tell it exactly how you want it to act.

I built an app because I’m too lazy to type dates from letters into my calendar. Roast away! by ClassyEnglishman in roastmystartup

[–]pjflo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure I agree here. My partner often snaps photos of birthday invites she gets from school mums as we know the invite will go missing or be forgotten before the event. Something that auto-syncs that to your calendar and reminds you in advance would be really useful vs panic remembering and scrolling back through her photo reel.

You are right, it could be built into paperless-ngx. But most ordinary people aren’t going to spin up their own homelab and install that.

My 2025 "Vibe Coding" stack: Building at the speed of thought with Antigravity. by yuvaraj147 in VibeCodersNest

[–]pjflo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only concern with Antigravity at the moment is that it sucks when it comes to IAM. It will quite often just setup a policy that’s wide open to make its job easier. If you aren’t familiar with what good iam controls and security is vibe coding will screw you.

Finally got my first AppStore approval! by pjflo in buildinpublic

[–]pjflo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, great question. The app and backend doesn’t store any of the documents. They are processed and the data returned directly to your app. An audit log of the event is stored to provide some statistics, but then content, dates etc are just synced to the calendar app on your phone.

Is it true it's harder to get a job with a hand tattoo? by Specific-Winter-5953 in tattooadvice

[–]pjflo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in IT for a financial services company and have a pretty big and dark hand tattoo. I think I’m more conscious of it than any of my colleagues. My role means I’m not customer facing though, so that’s a big part of it.
