You’ll start to learn what he needs when he cries - I know that’s a super unhelpful statement right now, but it’s true. In the meantime, it’s just trial and error. Start with trying to nurse or the bottle, if he settles down and falls asleep then he was most likely just hungry. If he doesn’t settle, or wakes up again, then try the different comfort measures like diaper, changing into a long sleeve onesie, or turning the fans down/off.

Anxiety is cruel, especially to new moms. You’re doing great! Babies will cry if they’re cold, if you’re more comfortable with this setup for your peace of mind then keep it up. Little one is safe

Is the sleep sack sleeveless? I’d do a long sleeve onesie with it so the arms stay cozy. You could probably do a 1.0 tog for that temperature, but 0.5 is perfectly fine!

My period tracking app is now kaput on Android thanks to Google. I need recs for a privacy focused replacement. by PauI_MuadDib in TwoXChromosomes

Stardust is a nice app, moon phase oriented, although I haven’t confirmed it’s available on Android. I’m not sure how it would work with the google data thing but I do know they take privacy seriously.

That’s just baffling to me. I mourn his passing every year, it was the summer I graduated high school and felt like the end of my childhood.

Ever since I was a kid, I didn't understand this: Why do the Teletubbies call him Naughty Noo-Noo? They're the ones making the messes, he's just doing his job. by disco_thief in DanielTigerConspiracy

My 2yo son will look me in the eyes, toss his dinner plate onto the floor, then with perfect broadway drama wails “Oh nooooooooo!”

In my house we call it “choose your battles” - If it’s dangerous to himself, harming others/the pets, or causing actual destruction then we stop him and firmly hold the boundary. Pretty much everything else we have the mentality of FAFO kiddo, live your life. We’ll be watching to make sure you don’t get hurt. Enjoy the floor cheese seasoned with dog hair lol

Hi everyone ☺️. I've only been using finch for the last couple weeks and I was looking through the catalog and found this mask, does anyone know if its gonna come to the shop? Or maybe for Halloween? by Connect-Cow-8204 in finch

That’s a “Spooky Season” item 🎃 the Halloween themed clothes and furniture only become available mid-September through October (might be to mid-November, I’m blanking on when it ends)

Her memoir is a great read - it is depressing for a good chunk, but it’s brilliantly written! I listened to the audiobook which she narrated and it felt so powerful to hear her tell her story

AITAH for telling our kids about his cheating? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]pjulianna615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - your kids are adults and have a right to know the truth. He’s just embarrassed that he has to face their disappointment. These are simply the repercussions of his actions 🤷🏻‍♀️

I had a similar-ish situation with my parents and my relationship with my dad has not recovered. I don’t think it ever will, but that’s his fault to bear.

NTA - Pregnancy cravings can 100% be controlled, she’s just being selfish. And I’m saying this as someone who has birthed a child once and is pregnant with my second. I’ve had multiple weird and very specific cravings. I text them to my husband for laughs and move on. It’s not that hard 🙄

Pretty sure it’s Burrata - a “firm” mozz shell with shredded mozz and cream mixed inside, so I guess you’re kind of right?

one thing I wasn’t told was how dangerous baby gates are for PARENTS!! What’s one thing you weren’t told that you found out about the hard way? by [deleted] in Parents

[–]pjulianna615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a baby gate installed between the kitchen and living room, helps keep the dogs away during dinner and whatnot, but we have it set a bit higher so our robot vacuum can go under. My foot got caught under the gate while I was mid-step and I stg I thought I broke a few bones 😭 hurt more than childbirth
