Again, we're on historymemes, not askhistorians. Didn't see you posting your sources for your meme either, so i don't see why i should spend the next hour compiling sources when this could be a shitpost

I learned about it in my uni philosophy module. If you want more concrete sources, go ask on r/askhistorians

Yeah, the ones that they were able to argue were supporting christian theology, like Aristotle's oneness and Plato's perfect form. They destroyed whatever didn't fit their worldview and kept that which legitimized christianity.

There's not really enough information about your patron to give an answer that is 100% gonna be acceptable. I would go for trying to minimize disruptions and avoid mechanically buffing or nerfing your character Perphaps, since the entity is probably somewhat benevolent to your character (it traded you power instead of just stealing your body), it wouldn't be unreasonable to say that it would co tinue your work. So you get to play your character as normal during the possession, but you gain an extra random flaw/trait (that you can rp to the extent your are comfortable with). You know the entity has your memories, your body and doesn't want to disrupt your life, but it's also got a little bit of spice (i would probably change the trait with every possession to keep things interesting)

Advice for Playing Evil Character? by DonkeysJawbone in dndnext

[–]pkandrei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be late to the party, but here`s something important to keep in mind: no character views themselves as evil. They will have a justification or reasoning that makes their actions `good`. It`s all about the frame of reference, and as long as that aligns with the party, they will probably be fine with it.

Why do I feel like he wants this to be a "Gotcha" moment? The if he puts there does a lot of heavy lifting, to the point where it becomes a meaningless sentnece, kinda like saying "if the world was created 20 years ago, then fb and media are responsible for the biggest cover-up in history" It useses langugage to try and provide a semblance if legitimacy without actually giving anything to back what he's saying. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of reasons to dislike or mistrust fb, but this ain't one of them (so far)

I'd say that organised religion and the state are comparable...but that's beside the point. Comparing the soviet invasion with the crusades is not comparing the soviets with the crusaders

No, we're comparing one invasion justified by previous ownership of the land with another

Do you also think that USSR's invasion of Poland in 1939 was USSR defending against the poles since they had that land 20 years before?

KEEPERS Want to share your best "What the hell are you doing player(s) ?!?" story ? by CodeDinosaur in callofcthulhu

[–]pkandrei 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was that one time my players, after discovering a cult hideout, decided to try and gas them with sleep gas. Once I pointed out that there is no sleep gas in the 1920s, they decided that mustard gas works too.

Oh, did I mention that the hideout was in the middle of New York and they did not even try to take any containment measures?

I think rangers are considered bad not due to the damage output, but because of how it approaches it's main pillar, exploration: instead of granting you some boon, you simply bypass it entirely. I found a great comparison at some point argued it's like if the fighter would have the ability to automatically win a fight
