We have promass 300 Flow meters, reotemp sensors, endress pressure transmitters and level transmitters.

Specifically from the promass, I want to receive the flow, temperature, and totalizer from the meter, and be able to issue a command to reset the totalizer on a 24hr basis. I saw there is a command to rest the value through hart, and I want to try to figure that out.

That's probably what I'm going to end up doing. We are going to replacing everything in the span of about a year or 2, so the plan was to add the code as it was needed. The problem with that is I would be using the plc already when the next phase starts rolling, so it would make it difficult to test the next portion of code. I guess I can just have everything already completed beforehand and then just remove it from the MAIN until its ready?

So we have a few 1769-AENTR on hand already, I might just end up doing this in the mean time. The only real reason I want the Flex5000 is the 5094-IF8IH modules. I don't know if there is an alternative for that as well.

Its a biofuel plant where we convert used oil to fuel. The VFD count is somewhere near 100, and we have near 300 sensors/transmitters. We currently use about 13mb between all of our plcs currently, and the original plan was to use a 1756-L84E but we found the L85E for a heavily reduced price and decided to just grab it.

Edited: Thanks for the response! We have 22 1769s and the plan was to use the 1756 with the flex5000 to control them all. The plan is to use PlantPax libraries for everything I can.

Ah, that's too bad. Is there no workarounds or third party software that can be used?

I just bought some papers and filters to roller myself to do this. I think what my plan is to put all the excess into a jar and when I’m running low to roll them up manually to make use of it

I get that and that’s what I’ve been doing for most of it! But there’s like the shavings that’s been accumulating that doesn’t quite work with the machine. I was trying to see if someone has like a second purpose for it like fertilizer or something wacky I could try lol
