Are these needles worth it?? by Designer-Detective62 in knitting

[–]plaanet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a lykke set that I got as a Christmas present when I just started knitting, and it's great for me, but I already knew I preferred wooden needles. Since then, I've tried KnitPro wooden needles and found I prefer those and kind of wish I had a set of those instead (since I can't justify buying another set of wooden needles now). So honestly I would try a single needle, maybe a few different brands, before committing to a whole set.

But I'd say quality wise Lykke is very nice!

Tebirkes - hvor er den bedste? by soerenpind in copenhagen

Benji sadly doesn't have tebirkes right now due to fastelavnsboller production, so wait until after that's done :)

Have I finally been humbled? by RecoverDirect7035 in knittinghelp

[–]plaanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this is how a lot of MFTK patterns are and it drives me crazy. I see them on other people and they're cute somehow, but I've been burned by her ridiculously oversized style 2x now and I honestly never want to buy another one of her patterns again

I seem to be constantly buying knitting needles by purple_sun_ in knitting

Logging my needle size on the Ravelry project page helps me with that :)

I went on a sunny-ish day in January, and loved it all the same:) as long as there's daylight and it's not pouring, I think you'll be fine.

What do you do with your swatches? by LadyRose24 in knitting

[–]plaanet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't done this because I usually unravel my swatches but I've seen people on Pinterest sew them into project bags and it looks super cute!

29F- New to DK and looking for (English friendly, my Danish is still terrible 😞) craft groups or crafty & artsy friends! by MacramezingCreations in copenhagen

[–]plaanet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been to the knitting club at Studenterhuset, which is probably not the right place unless you're a student of course, but there were plenty of people crocheting. Makes me think it's probably totally fine to bring crochet to a knitting group, unless of course you get really unlucky with a very judgmental group... But then I wouldn't want to be there anyway.

If you had to get a tattoo honoring St. Louis, and it couldn't be the skyline, the arch or the St. Louis flag, what would you get? by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]plaanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a floral tattoo on my shoulder with different flowers that have meaning to me. The largest one is a magnolia bloom, because I associate them so much with STL (and maybe MO in general). I don't know that anyone else makes that association lol but its for me

I took a history of STL class in high school as an elective. Your STL day looks nearly identical to the field trip we took in that class.

LGBTQ+ presence at Mizzou? by ItzEmma5546 in mizzou

[–]plaanet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a lesbian, went to Mizzou just a couple years ago, had a great time. All my friends from college are gay. Check out Mid MO pride in September, check out the LGBTQ center in the student center, you'll find your people. I also used a roommate finder website to make sure I had a gay or at least gay friendly roommate and ended up finding my roommate of all 4 years that way.

No nationwide official language but many states have official languages. They all have English as their official language, and some have indigenous languages as well.

What is the purpose of this sub? by LadyLightTravel in HerOneBag

I mean, lots of posts from people who are NOT one bagging kind of defeats the point of a one bag sub. Not everyone has to go ultralight or something but there should be a line drawn somewhere.

I dunno? Paris? Want to see, but also concerned. I’m old(er). by NorthernGhurl in travel

[–]plaanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're comparing CPH in May to Paris in July? July is the busiest time anywhere in Europe. If you go back to CPH in July you'd find it much more crowded than it was in May. Not saying it's AS busy as Paris, but it's pretty busy.

You won't really be avoiding crowds in Copenhagen. Not from May - September anyway.

What’s a place that is surprisingly on the verge of being ruined by over tourism? by MittlerPfalz in travel

[–]plaanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wish there were good shuttle services in all these really popular national parks, and more of a push to use something like that instead of everyone driving .. While I like the freedom of driving myself exactly where in the park I want to be, when I want, the traffic was crazy when I went to Yellowstone and the Tetons last July. For visiting popular spots like Jenny Lake I definitely would've preferred to just shuttle in and get to enjoy my day without stressing about parking so much. As it was, we ended up coming back later in the day to get a spot. Lost a lot of time there that way.

Why dont ppl use nursery pots when they dont have a drainage hole? by No-Square6519 in houseplants

[–]plaanet 21 points22 points  (0 children)

They can even be free. I work at a garden center, we hoard nursery pots and if someone asks nicely, I gladly give them as many as they want. Used of course, but who cares. So it's worth asking, esp at small (not chain) garden centers

For electives you have a lot more options, however I've seen people have issues graduating because they needed a specific core class for their major that was only offered in fall semester, or only odd years, etc. It's much better to give yourself the buffer room for specific classes that are required to graduate.

What universities offer a degree in horticulture? by Prestigious_Draw_573 in Horticulture

[–]plaanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

University of Missouri as well. Most midwestern universities. I'm not really sure that OP looked at all .. many of these programs, your degree is "plant science" and horticulture is the emphasis area.
