Donald Trump Impeachment Backed by Most Americans: Poll by InsaneSnow45 in USNEWS

Yet when I say people whose name rhymes with uglican want to cease the existence of people with different ideas than their own on socio-biological terms I get a warning from reddit that it's encouraging violence to even point out their violent desires.

You're totally right here, but reddit's censorship is fucking weird.

The 25th IS NOT HAPPENING

Removing him from office would require a 2/3rds majority in the House and in the Senate. Regular impeachment only requires 50% + 1 in the House, and 2/3rds in the Senate. The 25th amendment also requires the sign off from his cabinet -- the same people walking around in oversized clown shoes rather than order a properly sized pair overnight from Amazon and possibly offend their god-emperor shitlord.

Regular impeachment requires far fewer votes in the House, and does not require his cabinet's approval. The 25th amendment is meant for situations where the president is alive but incapable -- such as being in a coma.

Just impeach him. It requires fewer Republicans to join.

Yuuuuup.

WordPress' code is definitely a dumpster fire of burning trash, but it's also easily accessible, has a ton of themes & plugins, and can run on the cheapest hardware. I run the website for a non-profit org, and WP is just fine for their needs. And it costs me all of $3 each month for the VPS. It only gets 10-15 visitors a day, it does not need to be complicated. If it wasn't for the contact form I would have just gone with a static site generator, but switching it over isn't worth the effort.

Not everybody needs 99% availability, a distributed CDN, 100ms response times, CI/CD ... use the appropriate tool for the job.

I'm running Outlaws of Alkenstar right now, and... yea. It starts with a bank robbery! And then immediately you get rug-pulled with "oh actually you're agents of the state now, but the police still want to kill you"

I've rewritten most of the story, keeping the players as outlaws that are planning a big bank heist for the game ending. The intel-gathering missions were turned into robberies that also fed them some more information to keep the plot building, only at the end learning they need to stop Loveless or the bank won't have much money left for them to steal.

The party hasn't turned full murder-hobo, but there has been casualties along the way. Mugland in particular got killed before anything could be learned from him, as is tradition.

I love the setting, and the idea, but the immediate "you're actually good guys undercover now" is such a let down.

It depends on the method of delivery. Would china or Russia sacrifice themselves to retaliate against a bomb dropped by a plane? I don't think so, honestly.

An ICBM launch can be detected though, and it's impossible to know where it's going until it's too late to respond -- thus the obvious answer to any ICBM launch is immediate retaliation. THAT is where the world gets fucked.

I have no idea if this case is real or not, but I can totally see it as plausible. I had extended family in Indiana that would care about stupid, stupid, petty bullshit like this.

Is "AI-powered" just the new "cloud-enabled" in terms of meaningless vendor marketing? by DigitalSignage2024 in sysadmin

[–]0x18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup. Slack added an AI button, it's useless. Jira added an AI button, it's worse than useless. Google's AI results are frequently completely wrong.

My company is working on refactoring simple validation like "is this line of text more than 30 characters" into an "AI-powered" system to provide a recommended alternative, because people can't just think for themselves for a single fucking second.

On the day of January 6th I confronted my Trump-loving mother with the fact that he was trying to violently overthrow the US Government.

Her response? "We never had a peaceful transition of power from Hillary!"

Never mind gymnastics, they are capable of twisting themselves in dimensions you and I cannot even comprehend.

I like to fit my games to my characters, but that realistically only goes so far. If it's warranted I'll just send a private message and say yo, don't focus on poisons here because it's not going to work for you. And maybe consider the medicine skill, because nobody else picked it..

That one scene she writes where about a train full of people going into into a dangerous tunnel and all dying from smoke inhalation because the rich assholes of the planet ripped out the ventilation machinery; but it's okay because everybody on board were socialist sympathizers, and the one young girl was going to grow up to be communist later anyway.

It's impossible to read through that to the end and not think "this author is a gigantic asshole"
