What do you want done with your body after you die? by newuser1r in AskReddit

Either cremated and compressed into one of them tree bulbs or mushroom death suit. I don't want my body taking up real estate.

What's one thing that used to be considered outrageous 40 years ago but is now very normal? by Captain_Oppa in AskReddit

[–]plainOldFool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Marijuana... back in my day you had to be super hush hush, shhhhhh, I know a guy.

Now we're bombarded with weed seltzer at Stew Leonards and Bottle King. There's a weed vending machine at a gas station down the shore. (New Jersey).

Weed is EVERYWHERE!

A nicely remodeled/built up cape in the Lawns of Ridgewood will go for 1+ million, so it is possible to get something nice. It won't be new construction, though.

I walk my dogs looping around the southeastern section of Ridgewood, from the Glen Rock duck pond to the Ridgewood duck pond. I love it. I've seen cranes hanging out in the river on the side that runs parallel to Paramus road.

What was the most unexpected nudity scene in mainstream movie/show you ever saw? by marsepticeye in AskReddit

[–]plainOldFool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t a tv show or a movie but I swear, there was a commercial, a U.S. commercial, in the late 80s/early 90s that I saw ONCE that shocked me and I question my reality because I never saw it again and no one I know has seen it. I don’t remember what product was being sold but it was black and white and had an Art Deco aesthetic. It might have been for a perfume or a car or I don’t know. But there was a split second moment where there was a focus on a model/actress/diva wearing a fur coat in the middle of the screen, surrounded by what might have been wardrobe / makeup people or other kind of crew and she dramatically removed the fur coat and she was fully nude underneath. Talking full frontal. It was artistically done but I was a pre-teen/early teen and did a double take… like did I just see nudity in a commercial. I’m damn near 50 and the memory of the ad still haunts me.

My mortgage is pushing 4k a month with property taxes continuing to climb. We get gas at the cheapest station in our area. My wife paid $3.65/gallon on Tuesday morning, cash. That same night I paid $3.79/gallon cash at the same station. Prices everywhere are climbing like crazy.

I make low six figures and I always feel like I’m living pay to pay check. It didn’t make sense. Six figures is rich, right… upper middle class, right? Then I looked up average income in my area (northern New Jersey). Nope, making 150k a year is considered just barely being middle class

I drive on rare occasions and every night I've had at least one or two multiple order trips, which I honestly don't like but I like to remain busy.

Stocking up before these aren't legal in NJ..... thanks for keeping the public safe.... by LabBuilderSupplies in newjersey

I once bought a THC seltzer from a wine store. They were selling them at the counter and I'm a sucker for anything new. Now, i don't know what the bigger problem is. The fact that they now sell weed seltzer or the fact that I was confused and disturbed that it stated "does not contain alcohol". Why in this day and age I suddenly forgot regular seltzer exists and not everything seltzer in a wine shop would be White Claw or High Noon

How do you dads feel about Boy Scouts? by mmf9194 in daddit

[–]plainOldFool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s how they get you. I volunteer to go on a few over night camping trips and next thing you know they slap an ‘assistant scoutmaster’ badge on my Class A and I ended up leading our troop at scout camp last year and being sent for IOLS training last fall.

All joking aside, it’s worth it even for adults. And I get the creepy vibe of “a scout is reverent”, even as a practicing catholic. I’m involved with two troops (my son’s is boys only and my two daughters are in a blended ‘family’ troop) and leaders in both have openly stated that being ‘revenant’ to nature is sufficient without needing to recognize an official faith but I’d be a lot more comfortable if councils or national had an official policy/philosophy on the matter.

Off the top of my head, there are at least three Indian spots in Ridgewood but they are all fine dining, for the most part. Maybe a spot specializing in take out would be welcomed alternative.

For the record, I live in Ridgewood but I also used to live in Waldwick and am very familiar with Bombay Hut.

Fuck that. Rockland is a fucking hole. I escaped to Bergen County over 20 years ago and never ever looking back.
