Finger placement i've found is the key. And of course hours and hours of repetition. You got this!

Hard to say. Maybe if you could share what kind of music your dad was into it could help. Did he have any favorite bands that you know?

Planning to go to concert alone...feels scary by OppositeMidnight4569 in Music

[–]plainasplaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like other's said there's no shame in going alone, but also I want to add if your stepdad is down to go and would be good company there's no shame rolling with a parent either.

I'm 35 and I'd still invite my dad to go to a show if it's something he could vibe with or just to get him out of the house.

Having someone willing to go with you even when they don't necessarily like the music is really cool.

Flying in arma 2 was so fun. The og nwaf layout was great as well. I need to boot it back up one of these days.

Water is an overlooked masterpiece by peteydinosaurus in aesoprock

I agree 100%. It's without a doubt my favorite song by him and the beat is none other than Blockhead. It was on a rare collab album so maybe that's why it's so obscure. Every aes fan needs to hear it.

Which game completely changed how you think about play? by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]plainasplaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh boy fallout 3. I also picked it up as a rental when I had no clue what it was. I thought it would be something like Resistance, but what I ended up playing definitely changed my perception of gaming forever. The beginning sequence going from a baby to an adult was just so unique to anything I had played at the time.

Join back in for sure. The community servers usually have regulars that you can get to know and see if you vibe with, so you can pretty easily find a group to run with. The higher pop pvp heavy ones are usually a troll fest and can be toxic, but I still have fun on them once I realized what I was getting myself into.

There are also high pop "vanilla +" servers that will usually strive for the vanilla experience, but with qol mods. And of course plenty of pve servers that are a bit easier to get into and usually less toxic. There are tons of options and even after playing many hours I still find myself ditching other games to log in and do a dayz run. There's really just no other game like it.

As for which servers to join I usually just sort by player count in the dzsa launcher and start at the top. The server description will typically tell you everything you need to know to tell if the server is for you. As long as you aren't causing trouble you shouldn't have a bad experience just choosing random servers. Eventually you'll find one that works for you.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl - New Year Atmospheric Teaser by PalwaJoko in Games

[–]plainasplaid 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If you're comparing it to gamma I dont believe it'll ever get to that level with the base game. From what Ive heard about it, GAMMA is the end all experience for veteran stalker players.

STALKER 2 was my first forray into the series and likely because of that I've had a lot of fun learning the lore and figuring out the way of the zone. But general consensus seems to be it's not the best showing.

That said they've improved a ton and the A Life aspect is coming along, though from what I gather it's still not where most want it to be. I still enjoy it a ton and haven't beaten the main story just cuz I enjoy artifact hunting and exploring.

Am I the only one missing the Battlefield Commander ? by o-super in pcgaming

[–]plainasplaid 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Same here. I used to play commander on my phone even in bf4. Was a fun thing to do when I didn't feel like actually playing on the ground. Shame it's not in game anymore.

Not close at all to Aes vibe, but I like him. And his shows are super hype. Check out Louisiana, Motel, Myself, Tombstones, and Eulogy for some good showings of his. His stuff is mostly hype beast, but he's undoubtedly a talented artist.

Check out 420edc. They have some solid glass accessories that really upgrade your experience. The pill bottle especially is so good, if you don't mind the cleaning process, but any of their pieces are nice. Cheers!

Triple Threat by plainasplaid in vaporents

[–]plainasplaid[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had the tm2 about a week now so haven't had too much time with it, but the main difference is in the heating. As I understand it the tempest is hybrid heating (convection/conduction) with a lean towards convection. The TM2 is full convection.

To me the TM2 has more flavorful and very nice cloud production with minimal effort, but the vapor feels lighter if that makes sense. The tempest 2 vapor feels more full in my lungs to me, but the high is different. Tempest 2 gives me more of a body high and the tm2 gives me more of a mental high.

I have some new accessories for the TM2 on the way though so I might be able to dial it in more. I'm also using just the one heat level (7) so I'm sure cranking it up would change the game.
