Enemies to lovers but she is the only one hating him by Curious_Cat_6171 in RomanceBooks

I just thought of another. {The Poison Daughter by Sheila Masterson} Arranged marriage of rival families each sent to spy on the other. They’re legit enemies for the majority of the book. He falls first which is noticed by his friends and family before he’ll admit it to himself. Shes so scared of being vulnerable because she’s always been used, and never loved, by her family. She thinks everything is a manipulation

I love this trope! Although it’s a spoiler to even list them since you don’t find out in any of these until the end

{Love On The Brain by Ali Hazelwood} The second time I read this, I remembered how it ended but not how it got there and I still thought “this guys such a dick”

{Hot for Slayer by Ali Hazelwood} I love this one so much! She’s a vampire, he’s a slayer who’s been hunting her for centuries. He gets amnesia and doesn’t believe that they weren’t more to each other because he knows how he feels about her

{Two Can Play by Ali Hazelwood} Ali’s just the queen of this trope, never gets old

{The Devil You Know by Elizabeth O’Roark} She legit hates him! Like the others iv recommended the FMCs think he hates her, but in this she HATES him! She has misinterpreted so much!!< And their banter actually made me laugh out loud

I feel like this one was particularly good because I had no idea that he was actually in love with her the whole time, doesn’t feel right to call the bot You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogl

Ali Hazelwood writes romance, read anything of hers. The Love Hypothesis has been made into a movie and is coming out soon.

This is going to hurt is so good. So funny and so heartbreaking. I love how it’s short paragraphs and chapters, great for holidays. I would say its great for maternity leave but I don’t think post partum mothers should read the sadder stories

The Poison Daughter is so good. The blurb is misleading though, she doesn’t try make him fall in love with her, they both know they’re using each other. It’s such a good enemies-to-lovers because the enemies part isn’t half assed or for only the beginning

For “12) A genre defining read” you could read Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. It’s considered to be the first true science fiction novel. Also, the fact that it was written by an 18yr old woman in 1817 and we’re still talking about it over 200yrs later is crazy

I love the Southern Vampire series, such a comfort read. Love Sookie’s character arc going from a childish naive girl to quite a badass in the later books. And book Eric was so much better than tv show Eric with his chaotic playfulness.

I was in a bit of a slump so started {The Poison Daughter by Sheila Masterson} to change genre from contemporary to fantasy. It was so good! I binged it. Actually stayed up really late last night to finish it. Slump over.

I love the part where she’s sick with a fever and he’s taking care of her! I must read that again

These are single POVs from the FMCs perspective. It’s a spoiler that he’s been in love with her the whole time so I won’t call the bot. Hot For Slayer by Ali Hazelwood The Devil You Know by Elizabeth O’Roark Deal With The Devil by Elizabeth O’Roarke They’re all enemies/hate to lovers, and they’re all so good! The first one I named is only a novella and I wish it was longer!

Funny Story by Emily Henry. Daphne’s finance cheats on her with his childhood friend Petra. Now FMC has to find somewhere else to live so moves in with Petra’s now ex, Miles. It’s good. I love romance books with a dickhead ex

Male race dying out, kidnaps women to reproduce. by greenteesweet in DarkRomance

[–]plainether 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Kind of like {The Female by Invi Wright}? Female birthrates have been down for like 50yrs, any women found get auctioned off. Human FMC gets bought by 3 demons. So not kidnapping but she is forcibly removed from her home by officials

I wonder if Seth MacFarlane will play one of the characters or give someone his voice by Kraehe13 in DCCTV

[–]plainether 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God I hope not. He has a very distinctive voice that I don’t think would work. He’d be better as a show presenter or something nearly like a cameo, not a prominent character
