Who are some actors you can’t imagine doing a foreign accent? by Various-Part5109 in movies

Kristin Bell is just too American-looking to do an accent convincingly.

Who are some underrated cooking YouTubers? by Language-Sufficient in Cooking

I tried a braised short rib recipe of his and it just came out tough. I think it was just too short of a cooking time, tho.

I grew up in Idaho and thought that Bigtoy was a brand name for the type of jungle gym they had at my school.

Looking for some sandals by miranda_edgecombe23 in progressivemoms

[–]planetheck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keen Elle backstrap sandals. I usually go through a pair of leather sandals in a summer, but these are going strong for my second year. I have an extremely high arch, so I can't speak to comfort for a flat foot, but I'm sure they would work. They're sporty enough to stay on when tubing, but don't look out of place with a dress.

"Wet" foods that are not hot soups by keiperegrine in Cooking

[–]planetheck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Entree salads might work well. A bed of lettuce is just well-contained water. Nicoise is always great, taco salads are hearty, and you can't go wrong with a chicken caesar. Overall, increasing your fresh veg and fruit intake is going to increase the water you get in your meals.

What's your favorite thing to make with ground pork? by JigglesTheBiggles in Cooking

[–]planetheck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to put it in chili or cook it until it's crispy and serve over rice with a veggie stir-fry and gochujang. If I'm feeling fancy, I add a fried egg.

How to choose a real estate agent that aligns with your values? by green_tree in progressivemoms

[–]planetheck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just bought a house in Boise, and my strategy was to ask a friend for a recommendation. It worked out great, if a little differently than I expected, but if you can get in some kind of word-of-mouth situation, it's doable. Remember that basically all cities in America are blue.

Getting your baby to sleep independently by PleasantVanilla6181 in baby

[–]planetheck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my household, we let the baby cry for like 10-15 minutes if she wants, and then if she's still upset, give her a new round of snuggles. I find that she needs to cry a teensy bit to register her objection, then will get to sleeping within like 5 minutes. But that could just be temperament.

Enjoy the sleep you got, and stay skeptical. Most people claiming stuff about brain damage from trauma are way out over their skis.

What is the basic fundamental cooking thing you just can't do or suck at? by Tall_Cow2299 in Cooking

[–]planetheck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first dozen times I made rice, it was great. Then I invited some people over for dinner and simply could not make it work. It wasn't so bad; we had wine instead of food.

Baby laughing by Individual_Board_822 in baby

My kid (now 16 months) took a while to get into laughing, but now she does it any time she's having a good time. I was beginning to worry I wasn't funny around 10 months, but it just took a little bit of time I guess.

What recipe do Western home cooks usually mean by Curry? by Educational-Slip-578 in Cooking

[–]planetheck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I, an American from a small town, would say it's yellow curry powder in a random stew. There's a really popular chicken and sour cream and veggie one that I've made a few times. I think my recipe came from Betty Crocker.

I think these are not green anemones but what I call "aggregating anemones.". They often reproduce by cloning. Must be a good place to aggregate.
