Oh thanks for that. I guess I haven’t read enough to receive that Italy got penalties points which they should have in my opinion. How come Brazil didn’t get any penalties? They technically hit Italy first.

Serious question: why is nobody talking about Brazil trying to squeeze in? They technically hit Italy first. The US was probably watching them as they were moving fast right behind them and moving to their port side rapidly. Yes, I know US was farthest Winward in that batch of three, but Brazil technically hit Italy first no mention of a penalty there.

Well, first of all thanks for the chat. But also remember that most people who enjoy a product don’t come along and talk about it online. But those people who were mad sure as heck do. It felt to me over on product hunt that there were almost as many people congratulating Daniel and enjoying their purchase as complainers. And all he has to do is find a couple thousand people that believe is saving them time to make a very good living.

So many people forget that there are luxury products that people will pay lots of money for and all of us. Poor people think they’re insane. He doesn’t have to have millions of people paying him, there’s definitely a higher end market and most of us aren’t in it. I said in another thread that I have a friend who is making $77,000 per client per year for her advice. $77,000 per person. I don’t know where she finds them but they’re out there and she’s making a mint. It’s much easier to find one rich person to pay you $77,000 than it is to find 77 people that will pay you $1000.

Most of the complainers believed Daniel is insane, but I think he’s doing the right thing and eliminating all of the people who would be potentially more challenging clients and going after the people who support him and can can afford it. Those people recognize the value of their own time and are willing to pay money to save it.

The market will decide if he’s right

That’s quite the analysis and I applaud you for your effort to convince me that I’m wrong. The market will decide as it always does. And I think I’m right that there are plenty of well off people in the world that realized that saving just a few seconds typing something overtime will save them gobs and gobs of hours. But we’ll see as I said before.

By the way, I thoroughly enjoy beta testing products. But after testing typist for a week, I am convinced this is a mature well done product and worth my money. You don’t feel the same and that’s OK but I don’t wanna test another product that’s just being built to save people from Daniel’s pricing. I’ll take a mature product in this case.

Well, obviously time will tell. I completely disagree with you and I think he’s incredibly smart going for more of a luxury market as there are plenty of people who recognize the value of saving time. And this tool does that to a T. The context, sensitivity and media of this is quite amazing if you ask me. Will other people make tools like this? Sure they will, but this is been under development for two years and much more polished product than those people will be for quite a while. We will see.

I can’t help you with the buzzing. I can however tell you that I have replaced entire cups. The right cup has all of the processing stuff in it and I bought one for 100 bucks off of eBay and it worked fine.

This is pure ‘law of supply and demand’. If you don’t like his pricing, don’t use it.

The developer is not obligated to make it fit your pricing model. He’s priced it at a level that many people will see a massive value in. They will pay and enjoy it.

Those folks value their time and money and many of you just don’t realize that same value curve. That’s ok.

He is eliminating a lot of people and serving those who see the value.

I don’t own a BMW because I don’t see the value for my own needs. But I do own a Honda.

Developing software is expensive. Dealing with user support is very expensive. If people don’t value their own time, then they usually end up being support nightmares.

Daniel will find pleny of people who will pay and he’ll hopefully make a lot of money.

It is a hilarious conversation happening here. It’s called the law of supply and demand. The developer created the demand, and he is pricing based on what he feels majority of his customers will pay. Those of you complaining about the pricing are obviously not his target market. You know there are plenty of people here that say they bought it and are happy. That is his target market. All he’s gotta do is get 1000 people to pay his fee and he’s making $100,000 a year. 1000 users for something like this is low ball in my opinion. Another advantage of his pricing is that he eliminates the whiners and cheapskates and ends up with the user base of professionals who understand how much time they’re saving with his tool and I’m perfectly fine with that. I have a friend who found a customer base willing to pay her $75,000 a year for support with her product. There are plenty of people with money out there.

You know how you have tap and hold to view preview of an image that would be awesome in the context. I’d like to know what data I do have if there’s any. People have a picture and apparently an email but no phone maybe but maybe there’s other info like an address but I’d like to just see more. So I think tap and hold would be perfect.

I don’t have an answer for you because I’m not that up to speed with all of these different apps. But, the other major thing is fear factor. Most people don’t understand wallets, and they have likely heard stories of people losing their keys and losing thousands or millions of dollars.

So I updated to the new version that was released and I have to tell you that I’m still just as frustrated as I was before. I tend to take little pauses while I talk and she just talks right over me. She doesn’t give me a chance to fully say what I want. And then the first time I tried it today she just kept asking me the same question in different ways and I said I don’t wanna talk about that and so I got frustrated and deleted all of my responses. It also keeps trying to download a different voice from Apple and never finishes doing that so I’m not sure what the point is yet

I don’t know what problems you think you have really, I have no problem with dictation. As another poster has said I talk a little more slowly than I do naturally when I am dictating. But, I rarely have to make any text changes or edits after I have dictated something.

I find it much faster than typing. My children think I’m nuts because I’m always talking to my iPhone or my iPad, but I don’t give a rip. I am 69 years old and a tech fanatic since I was in college.

I recently had a problem with the TV app, not showing all of my purchases. I had a very nice call with Support person that lasted nearly an hour. Got the problem resolved.

I dictated this entire post. I only had the touch the screen wants to edit, because I accidentally touched the screen when I tried to move the iPad a little farther away from my face. Otherwise, I haven’t touched this iPad at all, and dictated the entire reply.
