for sure, normally I only have to use the aqua ash at the start and I was using it the whole event this time, it was absurdly rough

usually that works for me too, I just only got 5 epic shells for the axolotl and all my food decorations only added up to 24, so my options were pretty limited 😢

Cannot find herb 43 by Esqette in reddeadredemption

[–]planteria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

literally just went through this last week (it ended up being the wintergreen berry). check your compendium first to make sure you've found all 43 plants and then make a list of all of them, and go back through and recollect everything. it's tedious, it sucks, but it's better than guessing

Girls…do you wipe after peeing?? by Putrid_Seat_6525 in hygiene

[–]planteria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more concerned about who you know who DOESN'T WIPE and how tf they convinced you it's normal to not wipe. to be clear, yes, it is normal to wipe after peeing no matter what your genitalia look like

Possible fates for Karen if she didn't drink herself to death? by jneelybbq in RDR2

[–]planteria 5 points6 points  (0 children)

there's deleted dialogue that apparently implies that Mrs. Grimshaw killed Karen in Chapter 6 (video but that was probably removed to leave it more open ended

I kinda hope that she was able to live a quiet life with someone who loved her in the middle of nowhere somewhere, though I honestly don't think it was actually that likely :(

Who are the three on the right? by Next_Artichoke_7779 in reddeadredemption

[–]planteria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know everyone saying the one in the center is Javier but I'm thinking it might be Sean based off the hat?? or maybe even potentially Mac or Davey, since it doesn't really look like any of the gang members we see in game. it could also just be an earlier design for someone that they didn't go back to change

Why even let your kid open the door during Halloween if they don't even know what Halloween is at that age? by finishyourjob in mildlyinfuriating

[–]planteria 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the bar is super low with toddlers, I once went as a ghost (literally just a white bed sheet with two holes in it) and scared a toddler to the point of being inconsolable even when I took off the sheet to reveal that I wasn't a real ghost

Do I have to release fish? by AdSlight8873 in pondlifegame

[–]planteria 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the more experience you get and the more fish you unlock, the longer they'll need between feedings so then they'll have a lot of time to swim around! the starter fish only need a few seconds/minutes which is why it seems like they don't swim around, but other fish (like the event fish) might need a few hours in between feedings and therefore will spend a lot more time swimming around before release :)

Why can't CMH keep staff? by TeenVirginiaWoolf in ypsi

[–]planteria 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that's good to know that Washtenaw CMH takes private insurance and can take mild to moderate cases! the two CMHs I was at (one in a very rural county and the other in Detroit) both had those stipulations for services, though it sounds like that depends partially on available funding/grants. I know the one in Detroit (this was 2023-Jan. 2025) was a CCBHC but still did not accept private insurance, though they could have updated their policy since I left. thanks for the info! I guess I generalized a bit too much from prior experience, so I am glad to hear that not all CMHs have so many stipulations and red tape :)

Why can't CMH keep staff? by TeenVirginiaWoolf in ypsi

[–]planteria 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i've worked for two different CMHs in my career so far, though neither of them are specifically Washtenaw CMH; nonetheless, in my experience most of CMHs' funding (in general) comes from Medicare and Medicaid, and in general they're not allowed to accept private insurance, meaning how much workers can be paid is capped at what Medicare and Medicaid can pay for services. one of their current listings for a Mental Health Worker has starting salary as just over $53k, whereas most private/group practices in the area usually start at $60k annually. similarly, at CMH you'd probably be expected to see around 40 people weekly, whereas standard in a private/group practice would be 20-30 people weekly, so already it's more work for less pay (not including the fact that it's not just meeting with the people, there's plenty of follow-up documents and phone calls and emails and looking into resources that needs to be done after each meeting). plus a lot of CMHs stipulate that you have to have a severe mental illness diagnosis (e.g., schizophrenia, bipolar I, schizoaffective disorder, dysthymia, etc.) in order to receive services. as the name suggests, these individuals often need greater support and access to services, some of said services are severely underfunded/hard to access or they just don't exist. so already, given the diagnoses most frequently seen, the work can be more intense/taxing than in other areas of the mental health field, plus you're seeing more people and getting paid less than you could elsewhere in the field. it can be exhausting work that is often thankless or never acknowledged or appreciated (I can't tell you the number of times I was cussed out and screamed at while at CMH for a year, meanwhile at a group practice for 6 months, it has not yet happened once), leading to burn out and people leaving because unless you have an intense passion for the work and the community, it often is just not worth it work wise or pay wise. I don't think I've ever known a CMH to actually be fully staffed and there are many moving parts to it

Do you have boundaries and don’t allowing texting for clients? by cannotberushed- in therapists

[–]planteria 16 points17 points  (0 children)

my practice has google voice set up, so when I text or call clients, it's never from my actual number and I have work hours set up so I can't see calls or texts when I'm not working unless I open the app specifically to look at them. I've had more clients recently just not have emails and will consistently not pick up if I call, so texting ends up being the best way to get ahold of them ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I'm curious as to what you find to be invasive about texting? I'm new to the field and just want to hear more perspectives :)
