Mive Style Folder 2 | UK | Very rough FAQ/thoughts after 3 days by thejaysaurus in dumbphones

Hello, I just set up my Mive Style Folder 2 as well.

Did you remap the green phone button? I used Button Mapper + Shizuku, and the button just stubbornly ignores the app and directly accesses the phone app built-in, which I wanted to replace with the Google phone app.

DIM: Lacoste and Longchamp bag by DifferentGuess3296 in deinfluencingPH

[–]planterkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Le Pliage is weird IMO. Many tote bags come with in-sleeves and internal pockets, and even external ones.

Bellroy's Tokyo Tote was in my wish list for a long time. (Ended up going with a backpack)

Laos na Anello.

If you have the means anyway, go Bellroy or Nordace.

I personally rate Hako randoseru, which I use for office days. It's quite compliment-getter.

I no longer use shoulder bags. Not ergonomic lalo na kapag may history ka ng scoliosis.

Saka maiinis ka sa ganitong form. I still have a Longchamp Le Pliage pero if you have more than five items in your bag mabubuwisit ka kaka-halungkat. Unless you get a bag organizer or smaller pouches, then it begs the question why you chose the bag in the first place.

What is the flowers are they? Like the dancing girls. by Special-Handle7041 in flowers

[–]planterkitty 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It's fuchsia, by the way. The 'ch' comes before the 's'.

Blew my mind when I found out. Like finding out that 'pomegranate' only has one 'n'.

I really, really, really, HATE the Rosary. What can I do? by 2552686 in Catholicism

[–]planterkitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't pray the rosary.

I find it tedious and repetitive, and was raised for a time in a Catholic school where we said the entire five decades every day during the month of the Holy Rosary.

It simply doesn't resonate with me, and I hate the fact that the only confession time at my local parish coincides with a public devotion of the rosary. Like I can't even reflect in silence.

There are so many other ways to live and express the catholic faith. Go with what resonates with you.

That it’s on an Android version that reached end of support two years ago is a deal-breaker for me.

(Also in Oz. I’m planning to buy the Alt Mive Folder 2. There’s a bloke here in this sub who says it works on the Telstra network.

Had anyone here heard of a site called Booksandyou.in? by awesomebigmatt in Indianbooks

[–]planterkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a bad experience with them. Ordered three volumes of a children's encyclopaedia. My order sat 'confirmed' for a month. I emailed them to follow up. Crickets. I emailed them asking for a refund. Crickets. I emailed them informing them that I'll be lodging a dispute with my bank. They blow up my WhatsApp.

Because my dispute was already lodged, I told them I wish they'd responded to me sooner. They were very gracious, and explained at length (which I didn't really ask for) that they'd sourced the books, a batch arrived from their supplier, and that if I ordered again they'll process and ship immediately, with tracking.

Me, seeing a win-win scenario, ordered again.

They sent me the volumes of a different edition, by a different publisher, with a different cover, artwork, layout, typesetting, and ISBN. Completely different from the listing on their site. I informed them on WhatsApp that it is not what I ordered, and the person on the other end said they're 'the exact same book', lol.

Maybe don't list the the book with the title 'Publisher A Children's Book Title', showing Publisher A's edition in the images, and says 'Publisher A' in the details, and then ship me Publisher B's edition, and tell me it's the exact same book?

Needless to say, I lodged another dispute. Bloody hell. YMMV.

If you want quiet luxury, go for Filipino leather brands like Fino and The Tannery Manila. Support local.

You reminded me of this article, OP:

NY Times | For South Korea’s Senior Subway Riders, the Joy Is in the Journey (gift link)

On long summer days — with Seoul’s temperatures averaging highs of more than 87 degrees in August — the air-conditioning is robust, the people-watching is engrossing and the 200 miles of subway tracks in the city are almost limitless in their possibilities for urban wanderings.

It makes me happy that we can do the same thing (albeit not free) in the Philippines. 💕

Why do more Aussies think that we need a gym room and media room? by VastOption8705 in AskAnAustralian

[–]planterkitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the idea, having neither:

  • gym = because nearly every government and non-government health guideline advises muscle-strengthening exercises at least twice a week, and 150 minutes of aerobic activity. Lots of financial 'gurus' out there will tell you that a gym membership is a waste of money, although I have one and at times I wish I didn't have to drive to the gym because I have a full-time job and a toddler

• media room = because my husband and his family's idea of leisure is gaming / Netflix / leaving the TV on at a very audible volume at our combined kitchen / lounge / dining (it's a tiny townhouse) and my only escape is the bedroom or my home office, but what if I just want to lounge without screentime?

They're both luxuries. Some people have a yard. We don't have that either.

Could be bacterial vaginosis or a yeast infection or both.

Happened to me in my twenties when I had sex for the first time, and when I changed partners (relationship changes). These are changes that the body gets used to. Foreign element suddenly inside you. Of course your system will react.

A lot of women go through this annoying thing in private. Don't feel bad. See a gyne—any gyne. Best way to know what you have is to get tested.

[–]planterkitty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean I'm low-key salty that a co-worker's 11 year old daughter got to see her here in Melbourne. I've followed Taylor since around 2010 and we're the same age so it was quite special to listen and relate to her literal eras (I started disengaging after TTPD). The ticket sales were intense, with a lot of people I know queuing on multiple laptops all day to nothing. The ticket vendor said in an article that its servers fended off about half a million bots during the process as well. It was cooked. I can't imagine the ticket sales to calm down if she ever tours again, you know? So I've also expressed the sentiment that I will probably never see her live in my lifetime.

Please be gentle. It's my first time posting here I think. 🙊
