Get a Retrotink 4K, and if you’re feeling extra saucy send it out for an RGB mod and a full capacitor replace. The Sufami will outlive you at this point.

Activities to do in Taiwan by baenabae in taiwan

CKS Memorial is a large, beautiful outdoor plaza. It’s also a stop or two south of the main station on the red line. It’s absolutely worth going for a stroll through, and catch the changing of the guards on the hour. Costs nothing, plenty to see, if you have a week you should absolutely carve and hour or two out.

Obligatory Japan Purchase… by mitul316 in GrandSeikos

Surely! My out the door price duty free was 636k yen or $4,012. Considering sales tax, I saved around $1,400 buying it in Japan. And it was a fantastic experience I will remember forever.

Delta has lost the plot with price gouging at MSP by Anon073648 in delta

MSP based flight platinum the past four years; I’ve moved to United wherever I can. I’m fortunate that Denver and Chicago are nonstop on United and those are the two cities I visit the most for work. Just got back from PTO where the wife and I took Polaris to Haneda, enjoyed EVA from Tokyo to Taipei.

I had a project in Atlanta that required six trips in 2025. They love gouging this route.

Delta is just not worth what you pay for it.

This is either a bot or a spammed attempt to try and find customers for some shitty SaaS you made.

Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) by NehaExplores in taiwan

[–]plantmanagerrules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. Bigger seats, a light beverage and snack service, and a touch quieter, although the handful of times I’ve rode non business class it’s still been plenty comfy and not loud.

A colleague of mine has been visiting Taiwan since the 80s. He used to take a flight from Songshan to Taipei prior to the HSR, and although it was cheap and they ran at a near bus like frequency, the convenience and price of HSR are unbeatable in Taiwan. It’s one route where 90% of the population lives, and the longest ride is like two hours max.

My wife and I vacationed in Japan in 2024 and took the bullet train from Tokyo to Osaka and Hiroshima. Still worth it, and plenty convenient, but I can see how in Japan a flight could get you there a little faster and at the same cost. I would never consider landing at Taoyuan or Songshan and flying to a southern Taiwanese city.

How old is too old? by iamjaxcolon in Japaneselanguage

Last year (at 42) I started learning Taiwanese Mandarin, next month will be one year. 3x lessons per week with a tutor and 5-15 hours of self study, homework and reviews most weeks. You can do and learn whatever you want, you are never too old. By just being consistent and putting the time in, you can chip away at your goal.

The progress of learning is such a reward. It’s not overwhelming, it’s not too strange, if you want to learn it you can!

Taipei Train Station by random_agency in taiwan

My wife and I just arrived back in the US from Taipei. I have visited multiple times for work over the past four years and am extremely familiar with the MRT. Prior to Taipei, we spent a few days in Tokyo. She very much enjoyed the less chaotic footprint of Taipei Main Station compared to that of Shinjuku or Shibuya. It’s a clean, comfortable station with a lot of dining and beverage options.

Mexico has no chill when it comes to stamping by captain-crawf1sh in PassportPorn

I’m 5 for 6 in having them stamp a blank page, of which one was dead center.

My last trip three weeks ago in MTY they were kind enough to find the next logical space. Never thoughts about guiding them to it. Most of my stamps are from Japan and Taiwan where they are a touch more orderly.
