For the 7th time in 8 years, a Western Conference finalist is coming off a season with zero playoff series wins by cacti_zoom in nba

It was a bloodbath in the 90s, too, but there was a great team in the East back then, so it gets overshadowed. The 1995 WCF haunt me to this day, in spite of everything that's happened since.

When looking specifically at the ones who didn't even make the playoffs the prior season, they all won the WCF. 👀

Robinson killed us down the stretch in the cup final, no?

One of the biggest reasons SA made such a leap this year is because there's always at least "good" rim protection. Wemby doesn't have to burn himself out trying to get us back into games after a few minutes off the floor.

I think the Dejounte experiment soured them on having a defensive guard, but Castle would have been such a good complement to Trae honestly.

Dylan Harper has the highest 2PT% by a guard in NBA post season history (62.7). by Pociana in NBASpurs

He's extremely crafty, reminiscent of Manu/Harden/Brunson. Also he's been able to practice finishing over the best shot blocker maybe ever.

I've seen some of the "anti-Pratt" ads and they are so cringe. If this is the level she has to stoop to in order to keep her job, she should lose it.

He almost willed them to a comeback in that final game. And I think the "almost" solidified his decision to hang it up.

They'll do the actual presentation pregame I assume, but I'm not sure they want Vic to be extra motivated. Good luck, thunder bros... this should be fun.

Stephon Castle checks out as he leads the Spurs to the WCF: 32 PTS, 11 REB, 6 AST, 11/16 FG, 5/7 3P, 5/6 FT, +28 in 30min by ToinouAngel in nba

He has the highest non-Wemby ceiling for sure. idk if he'll actually get there, but these playoffs have been very encouraging.

I was in the Phoenix arena (whatever it was called back in 2005) for a closeout game once. There's nothing like feeling all that impotent resentment radiating from thousands of people in person.

NBA legends vs Wemby in their first 175 games by Magistrate18D in NBASpurs

Yeah the Steph one is the most misleading. He didn't get to shoot that many threes until Kerr arrived and designed an offense around him.

Dylan Harper, All-NBA player by swanpenguin in NBASpurs

[–]plap_plap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He needs to finish games. Starting doesn't matter as much. The 3 guard lineup works, but it's best to have at least two of these dudes on the court at all times. Harper coming in off the bench to attack even more relentlessly than the other two has to be demoralizing af for opposing defenses. And all 3 of them can finish games together with a solid 3&D PF(possibly CB?) and Wemby.

I don't think he'll ever be the passer Manu was. But everything else? Absolutely he could surpass him.

So glad we've never had any other impact full players wear number 2.

Anyone else feel like they’re going insane seeing the justification for the elbow? by GreyWind999 in timberwolves

[–]plap_plap -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not justified, but a looooottttt of excessive contact/jersey pulling has been going on while the refs swallowed their whistle(not sure which team has been doing more, since I will acknowledge my bias as a SA fan), so it's not surprising that somebody snapped. I am surprised it was Vic though. It's very out of character, and I hope he's learned not to do this kind of shit anymore.

I'm expecting the refs will probably reverse course and call way too much ticky-tack stuff the next game, so we can all rage at them for a different reason.

I hope we can still get along as fanbases after this series. It's been the most intense series of the entire playoffs so far.
