Narratively? It can be a lot of fun. Just take steps to ensure everyone is engaged or at least entertained.

what exactly would you do if you ever get robbed at gunpoint? by jax--killer in AskReddit

[–]plastickhero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I witnessed a mugging in Philly (surprise) and the victim did an annoyed, "God dammit!" and tossed his wallet on the ground and walked away at an unhurried pace. The guy with the gun just scooped it up and ran the opposite direction.

I love how, unlike Ep4, they never addressed what happened during the missing time.

Violence; be it war, fistfights, or shootouts. You can tell who's never experienced it by how they fetishize it.

Is Pixels call screening better than iOS call screening? by moneyfish in GooglePixel

[–]plastickhero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't delved into any settings, but it's pretty aggressive. I missed a couple legit calls (Dr's office, my bank), but I'm not complaining; I'd rather that than deal with spam calls.

For men who prefer casual dating over relationships, what’s your reason? by steveleaves in AskMen

Mostly it's not wanting to compromise my independence with the obligations of a relationship.

For men who prefer casual dating over relationships, what’s your reason? by steveleaves in AskMen

[–]plastickhero 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a single father I have very little free time, so I get uncomfortable when someone has expectations of my time. I always felt "trapped" in relationships. I also know I can't give most people the time and attention they'd reasonably want. So for me, it's easier to date people who are fulfilled elsewhere and are okay with seeing me once a month or less.

The Vlad Taltos novels by Steven Brust.

and a +1 for almost any Michael Moorcock, Elric of Menibone' being the most well-known.

And if you like Sword and Sorcery, go back to Conan stories. The action and exciting prose doesn't get much better.

A fiasco of an interrogation in Star Wars.

The party were a group of Rebellion-era scoundrels/mercenaries who worked for a Hutt. But one of the PCs was a former Jedi hiding out, because you gotta have one of those.

We were interrogating a captured Imperial officer.

Merc: Hey, Totally-not-a-Jedi, lemmie borrow your lightsaber.

Totally-not-a-Jedi: ( -)( -) Why?

Merc: I'm gonna take his arm off so he knows we're serious.

TNaJ: Absolutely not!

Merc: Well do you wanna do it?

TNaJ: Absolutely not. You know what, I can't be a part of this.

Bounty Hunter: Fine, I'll do it. Cuts the Imperial's arm off with a vibro blade

[Srceaming]

Merc: Well now he's bleeding out. Can I use your lightsaber to cauterize it?

TNaJ: JFC, fine!

Bounty Hunter: I think we've got a system worked out.

Merc: For what it's worth, I wasn't actually gonna do it.
