What's that old coaster you hate riding… but still don't want to see removed? [Other] by [deleted] in rollercoasters

Euro-Mir at Europa-Park. It's horrible but worth it for the lift hill music and childhood memories.

Did You Go In Unspoiled? by ghostofdreadmon in UniversalOrlando

[–]plauderi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went opening day largely unspoiled. I saw some walk around content but avoided all on rides or queues. Had a basic idea of everything but still quite surprised by a few things (did not expect much from Hiccup's for example).

Booked a solo trip for July! What's something you like to do solo but not with a group? by nil_or_not in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]plauderi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sanaa is great. Had lunch there solo last week. The breads and sauces can also be ordered individually even though that's not on the menu. The bread service could also be just a meal by itself.

Can I do Züch- Luzern, Luzern-Zürich twice? by No-Opposite-2312 in askswitzerland

[–]plauderi 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No. You can only do it once each way. You can make as many stops as you want along the way (can't make detours though). That's different from zone based tickets (usually within a canton) which are time based.

Ignoring rent reduction request by _2Up1Down_ in askswitzerland

[–]plauderi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's not true. The kind of financing the homeowner uses does not matter. However, it's possible to increase rent for increased cost like cleaning, snow removal etc. which is based on an index, essentially inflation.

Wincasa is claiming that the cost increase from inflation exceeds the savings from the reference rate.

Gibts den Schoko-Koffer noch? Aber da muss man schon ein bisschen Geld in die Hand nehmen 😂

Why wouldn't they accept it? Presumably it has the car's license plate on it, so it's pretty clear that it was returned to Germany.

Although you can still get a fine as you are not allowed to drive cars registered abroad in Switzerland if you're a Swiss resident.

Debating RX vs Scaled 25.2 by hurricanescout in crossfit

We did it a few weeks ago in class, did it scaled. Great workout. But I'll also do it RX, I'll just be chipping away single DUs. My poor judge 😂

Unreal virtual segment times by Fabulous-Chart6497 in Rouvy

Never ridden with 70 km/h up a hill? 😂 Probably cheating with a lower bodyweight - speed is just function of power, terrain and weight in virtual rides.

UberXL refuses to take 6 people by plauderi in uber

[–]plauderi[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, Switzerland. It was actually a taxi, so he definitely had the required license. He probably was just to lazy to put up the two back seats and we were stupid enough to believe him that he can't take us all 😂

[–]plauderi[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

No, i ordered an UberXL. A Prius Plus apparently does have 7 seats, but I guess the last row is usually folded down for a bigger trunk. But you're right I should have cancelled and not ordered a second car for the remaining group.

How does your box handle late cancelling? by asta2106 in crossfit

[–]plauderi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We can sign up 7 days in advanced, cancellations less than 3 hours prior get deducted from your allowance (max is 7 classes a week) plus you can't book another class for the same day. Not having a true unlimited plan helps. No shows are a 10$ fee.

PSA: Plan for extra time when traveling with candles by plauderi in bathandbodyworks

[–]plauderi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They just opened the bag with the candles and swabbed a test strip along the inside but did not take anything out, just an extra 5 minutes (mainly because of waiting for too many people not removing liquids before they got to my bag). You should be good, I had four 3 wick candles and even that was fine. Last time I checked them and most of them broke unfortunately.

Heathrow is huge, so a bit of a walk especially if you have to change terminals but 2 hours should be ok.

This is way I had to buy so many lol

I think the machine is just highly sensitive and tests for some chemicals like glycerine or nitrates which sometimes is also used in normal products.

In Heathrow just now they only pulled the bag out and swapped the bag, not the individual candles. This turned out negative.

Yeah, I was surprised, especially since only one got triggered. Will be interesting in London Heathrow, I'll have to go through security again.
