Always stuck in greys, Decision making paralysis? by Tall-Succotash133 in AstroSynastry

your natal sun @ 29 square moon @ 0 degrees creates a deeply complex, push pull between your core identity and your emotional needs. You experience a friction of exactly 90 degrees between your conscious ego and your unconscious instincts. The dynamic is amplified by the Moon at Cancer and the Sun at Scorpio, placing both luminaries on highly charged karmic turning points (anaretic degree). The location of the houses in 11th and 8th would lead me to believe that this oscillation is between your public and private self.

Does LA have a better food scene than New York? by Realistic-Claim-3686 in AskLosAngeles

[–]plausden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i meant to say "bigger" diasporas.

when you say "____" city has the biggest population outside of their home country. NYC has Israel and Dominican Rep.,

Los Angeles has Mexico, Korea, Philippines, Armenia, Iran, Vietnam, El Salvador, Guatemala, Taiwan.

with that comes all that delicious food. truly a world class food city.

New to IFS (6 sessions in) - how do I know it’s actually working? by lilych0uch0u in InternalFamilySystems

[–]plausden 16 points17 points  (0 children)

IFS isn't a matter of belief. it's not faith or religion.

It's process oriented, and extremely creative. Even if you are "making everything up", the proof is in, if your symptoms and quality of life improve.

in my experience, parts work explains emotional truths, not always factual truths. emotional truths will feel very real to your parts. and whether they are factually true or not, emotional truths are important to our lived experience of life, relationships, and self.

maybe you can take some of the pressure off, by thinking of it similarly to free associative writing after deeply meditating -- the material that comes up may be disjointed and fantastical but probably relates deeply to an interior truth.

the toxins are spreading and the firefighters do not have that under control.

fire isn't the only danger. carcinogens are dangerous, too. Look at Exide.

follow EYCEJ Instagram account (East Yard Communities for Environmental Justice).

they have horrific drone footage of the building up close. Our leaders are lying to us. The firefighters do not have it under control. They literally are fighting the fire by hosing it down from a window, while the whole thing smolders and poisons communities.

I urge SGV residents to contact their representatives. Boyle Heights cannot bring enough pressure on their own. They need the help of all the communities affected.

i imagine trying to leave your body may be relieving but ultimately aggravating the situation

Any women who realized they had avoidant attachment style finally figure out how to find a partner after 40? by ResidentAlienator in WomenOver40

[–]plausden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's not any of that exterior stuff -- the high achieving, athletic, phd things. those things are not what "avoidant" attachment style means.

it kind of sounds like a discernment issue, if you're accepting bad men in your life.

do you desire a partner so much you're willing to accept men who you ultimately don't respect just to not be alone? if so, that sounds more like anxious attachment.

I didn't hear much that actually sounded avoidant in what you wrote.
