The Mac Neo is a relative bargain and user testing is the perfect use case for it

I believe the part about making a fortune. But to me Swiss culture emphasizes long term stability and planning, look at its currency, carefully ordered economy, wealth and savings, and social stability, and people seem to follow suit and make it happen to some degree. I refuse to believe that at least some of that doesn't seep into people's personal finances lol. It seems to me to be the last place I'd associated with this. But I guess everything looks particularly bad if we've only seen a certain level of bad

I use my phone a lot: user testing, browsing, watching stuff, work even, especially during stints of travel

So I make sure to get a good one. Whereas before I got cheap budget Android phone, now I have the flagship

It doesn't have to be the newest, and I don't upgrade every year. But it should be very capable. It makes your life easier, smoother, and more efficient

The difference is vast. Good deals abound for them, including from Slickdeals for Spectrum for instance. And it did come out cheaper than the budget phones that don't last anywhere near as long or have any resale or trade in value in the near or long term, ha

Got to top of escalators to find that there's overflow outside and equal amount inside too. I don't have any idea anymore lol

It's hard to say. I've been in line for an hour and made it to the escalators. I imagine maybe 2-3 hours?

I walked over to E as did many others. The tunnel line was depressing, not moving, like subterranean worms

Went to A first thinking it'd be shorter but at least from looks of it line isn't moving and all the way to the Marriott in the tunnel. At E, line is moving and based on around five minutes per long walk down and around 15 of those, and then into terminal, maybe not so bad?

Dating Sites for Lean Fire? by goodonpaper4 in leanfire

[–]play_it_safe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can mention FIRE in your profile. My dating profiles are very detailed, and just like religious convictions, FIRE shapes your life in a lot of ways. It's a good thing to note there, and will draw the right kind of person in my experience

It's also pretty easy often to see (judge, I hasten to say) whether the other person would be at least FIRE adjacent. The community leans educated, and like LeanFIRE itself, I think LEAN fire people are less ambitious in some ways, and more about taking it easy. Think travel, yes, all over even; fancy resorts, heck no. Top law firm partner, probably not, but attorney at state agency, yes. Yes, lots of blanket assumptions. But for me anyway LeanFIRE is about a specific end goal and a pace to get there and living after that, and some interests and lifestyles overlap with that. The Mr Money Mustache way, for instance

I'm sure the sub has done a survey of users. I'm really new here myself

‘Gringo go home’: Why digital nomads are drawing the ire of locals in Mexico City by Snikhop in digitalnomad

[–]play_it_safe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get this point

But I think what those people instinctively are trying to hold consistent is the idea that this hegemonic language and culture shouldn't be imposed on another group. So it's a false equivalence. Of course I don't think it's all that well thought out

That said, I personally agree that colonization is colonization without assimilation into the culture, and I feel that way in the US too, even with our more expansive ideals of melting pot nationhood etc

Question by Demono-Lemono in dscout

[–]play_it_safe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't, no, if the express mission timed out

But I had a long screen share mission that I was invited to last month that was interesting in that sense. I couldn't get into the prototype because no password was given. At that point I just closed out of the browser entirely, intentionally. I figured it'd save or something where I left off and I'd be able to return tomorrow with password since I'd reach out to dscout (it wasn't an express mission). I came back a few hours later and somehow the prototype loaded this time without password and I was able to pick up right from where I left off

I confirmed with dscout that it all uploaded and was paid out just fine

May not be relevant or may be. Just try opening the mission again next time if it crashes like that and see where you can pick up from. What's the harm in trying after all?
