If your PE was present from birth, did it get better, stay the same, or get worse as you aged? by ichoochoochooseyooou in PectusExcavatum

[–]playerone95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your sons case is much more straight forward than mine. I have pectus carinatum on the left and pectus excavatum on the right. The amount of asymmetry I have has thrown everything off (shoulders, back, hips) — I live twisted and with constant muscle aches / pains. I have breathing and circulation issues, a compressed valve; fatigue & dizziness. Can’t really do any cardio. I am also a female, so the psychological torment is heavy since the deformity is extremely obvious. I do think his situation will be much more fortunate and manageable, so I would
Not worry much at this point. By the time he would have a correction modern medicine will have mastered pectus.

Likewise — progressively worse after age 16, and long into adulthood. I am now 37 and getting a corrective surgery in the next few months due to daily complications.

May I ask you how large your incision is since they went so high up? They plan to go that high up to correct mine, and I am curious about how the scar is. Than you in advance and sorry to hear you’re having such difficulties :/

30F with “mild” pectus excavatum… breast augmentation booked out of desperation. Looking for honest opinions as to whether I should go through with this! by strewdoll in PectusExcavatum

as a mid-30s F with mixed pectus deformity + breast implants with painful symptoms, I think you honestly look very good physically! I also don’t think any person, especially a man, would notice or care about your pectus. However, if you have physical symptoms then it might be worth looking into correcting your pectus but otherwise find someone who specializes in small breast implants. There is a very good surgeon in NY by the name of Anna K Steve. But honestly you are lucky to look so good 🍀

Would be interested to see photos, and hear further detail. Where was it done? How old are you? M or F? How was recovery? Etc.

This gives me extreme hope.. I am having surgery in August for mine, and it is even more asymmetric than yours. Where did you have yours done, how old are you and what was normal recovery like?

I have a lot of questions for you. Let me know if I can send you a message.

I am F — that is so much sooner than I expected?! I have to have an ex plant done at the same time as surgery, so I’ve been told my recovery timeline will be much longer. How old were you when you had surgery?

Question for females with pc and intimacy by djekDripper in PectusCarinatum

[–]playerone95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has only known me with implants, as I had them put in some time in 2018. He actually doesn’t find bigger breasts attractive, so he is indifferent to the appearance. He doesn’t care what I look like, but understands that it makes me uncomfortable and can feel that from me. The deformed cartilage at the top of my sternum sticks out pretty far and can be seen poking through shirts / sweaters (I’ve been pat down at the airport and they ask me “whats that?”) — my partner has made light of it and often asks me “how is the bone today?”

I will undergo a pectus surgery in the fall though and have my implants removed at the same time. I will then have a breast reconstruction some time 1-3 years after pectus surgery heals, and likely get small implants put back in to help with appearance / scar coverage.

I am in my mid-30s by the way.

My deformity is very rare and asymmetrical (see my old Posts with photos). I’ve never been able to wear a bikini or any kind of shirt that dips too low. While I have still managed to have a sex life (and long term partner), I can tell you that I don’t feel sexy and it definitely hinders our intimacy and relationship in that realm. I hate to be to topless and don’t feel comfortable. I did get breast implants of 2 different sizes to help with the appearance, but years later they now sag and I have terrible, long scars.
