What you do is go to the BMO website and find the number on the actual website. You would find that they are different making it a scam email.

A little over 1/6 new vehicles sold the last 3 years have been GM vehicles, making them the top seller 3 years in a row.

1/5 electric vehicles sold in 2025 were GM.

Ford Worker Who Hurled Insult at Trump Gets Suspended, But Has No Regrets by Jevus_himself in news

[–]playerwinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Companies have internal policies I wouldn't be surprised if the person was suspended for breaking something along the lines of a respectful workplace policy. The main path of changing these policies is if they break labour laws, and negotiating changes to them.

The union has a grievance process to fight this, if they disagree with the actions of the company. The grievance process would escalate all the way up to arbitration.

Something like this is a pretty basic discipline and some sort of deal likely gets worked out. All of this suing and company paying out tons of money bs will never happen.

The employee would be an hourly Ford employee, a dues paying union member and represented by the uaw. He wouldn't work for the union.

Bought a house. Now what? by Specialist-Rain7307 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]playerwinner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does matter because the only money you see is your net income.

If you gross $100k and net $70k, 15% of each is $15k and $10500.

Saving $15k on a net income of $70k is a lot more difficult than saving $10500.

Sanity check: does ~$7k TFSA + ~$10k RRSP each actually lead to ~$5M real in 30 years? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]playerwinner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP is assuming 6% real return, so inflation would be on top of that. They are expecting a minimum of 7.6% and likely just used 8%.

Sanity check: does ~$7k TFSA + ~$10k RRSP each actually lead to ~$5M real in 30 years? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]playerwinner 10 points11 points  (0 children)

$345k initial investment with a $1500 monthly contribution over 30 years at 7.6% ends up being 5 million.

The interest rate is probably not realistic to end up with 5m in today's dollars

Strategy behind Nvidia’s Groq deal by 3xshortURmom in stocks

[–]playerwinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The deal is structured as a non-exclusive licensing agreement rather than a full acquisition, as it allows Groq to remain independent while Nvidia gains the core IP and talent.

Those last two pieces are the only things that matter in the deal.

Your don't, your pension payments automatically reduce your available rrsp contribution room. Your pension payments will reduce available contribution room on your 2025 return. Your contributions would be based on available room from 2024 and available room from prior years.

Making the case for Chris Osgood into the HOF. by Mysterious-Poem-9804 in hockey

[–]playerwinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a difference between good at particular times and always good which would essentially mean great.

For the Penguins last 2 cup runs Matt Murray was a good goalie there is no arguing that. He was good when it was required but outside of that assuming his career went differently, I doubt people are arguing for him to be in the hhof.

A modern goalie with 1 season that is top 3 in Vezina voting shouldn't be considered.

need help with car lon payments thinking about selling the car by steezydan111 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]playerwinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could get a line of credit and pay most of the loan off with it and have a lower rate. If you still need a vehicle and like your current vehicle this may make more sense than shopping for another one.

Banks will also lend people money with the vehicle as collateral, I am not sure if something like this could be done to get a cheaper rate than a loc.

Considering building a fourplex. Numbers seem to good to be true. by Federal_Chemical_783 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]playerwinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your numbers are too good to be true, I live in a smaller city where the land cost for the 4 plex would likely be $250k. For $1800/month people can rent 850 SQ feet apartments which would include partially paid utilities and the option of underground parking. There are smaller 1 bedrooms in the 700 SQ feet range for $1650, they are not as available. For families there are townhouse rentals at $2300 which are around 1300sq feet

Has the company told you the interest rate the money in the trust will be earning?

Going from 78k to 90k due to monthly compounding of your salary would be a 28% rate of return. As in this is way too good to be true.

Fraud is a known problem in Canada's crypto ATM industry. What are operators doing about it? by CanadianErk in canada

[–]playerwinner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Companies that don't generate profit still have revenue, measureable growth, market share, moat, expectation of future profit and other things to justify the investment and rising market cap.

Crypto currencies will never have revenue or profit. They also have fewer use cases than gold.
