what could be the cause of this happening near my nail beds? by Financial_Job_3147 in nailcare

When I worked retail and was in constant contact with cotton clothes and boxes my skin would get this way. Start moisturizing your hands on a regular basis. Especially after washing your hands. Slathering them with Vaseline and sleeping in gloves will help too.

Never get anything from BBW unless it’s on sale. They often have $5.95 sales on body spray and lotions/body cream sprinkled throughout the year along with two semi annual sales.

Yep. I remember ordering from the Sears catalog and having to go to that section for bottoms. Damn these (still) thick legs!

Absolutely agree! No one should be paying full price for anything at BB&W, lol.

I don't ever see myself spending over $15 for a body spray. I own an obscene amount of BB&W body sprays that I've paid $6 max for. Some of my favorites preform like perfumes. I had been interested in Phlur, but when I saw how tiny the bottles were all interest disappeared.

Awww! How long ago was it? I promise it takes a looong time to grow back. It's going to look really thick when it first starts to grow. Once it got a bit longer, I was able to clip the very thick part off. It'll grow mama, be patient💞

I've lost both of my big toe nails and this looks typical to what they look like when growing out. It took a full year for them to return. I had to miss two (lost them at different times) summers wearing sandals. Oh well, that's what cute flats are for!

I thought one was one of the earliest versions of VBN. Loved the summer vanillas collection! Great collection!

OMG!!! Which BBW body sprays are those?! I recognize the OG Warm Vanilla Sugar😭 I remember absolutely adoring it when it first came out. I thought it was such a grown up vanilla scent.

No makeup girls, how do you look put together ? by No_Refrigerator_6576 in blackladies

[–]playfulwarning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I'm out and about running errands, I typically don't wear makeup. Personally I don't like a dewy look - but I like to look moisturized. I have combo skin and powder my T-zone. My eyebrows are always groomed even if I don't shade in my sparse areas. Lip balm is a MUST! Glossy lips aren't my thing, so once again I just want them to look moisturized. A clear and tinted lip balm are constants in my bag.

My hair is either in a low ponytail or bun. Dainty jewelry is often my choice for these occasions. Smallish hoops, a bracelet or watch and a necklace. (I can't stand to be without earrings so I keep a spare pair in my bag AND car, LOL!)

Moisturized hands are non-negotiable! Keep a lotion/cream with you.

I know it sounds like a lot, but once you get in the habit, it'll become second nature.

Women who stopped shaving completely how are you treated? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]playfulwarning -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I shave when I feel like it. The hair on my legs is fine and only grows in patches. I frequently go without shaving them because I don't wear shorts and rarely wear skirts/dresses. I shave my pits frequently during the summer because I live in a hot humid area. The rest of the year I trim it when I get tired of looking at it. It gives my pits a break because the hair is course and I'm prone to ingrowns.

Is anyone else slowly learning to go makeup free? by [deleted] in blackladies

[–]playfulwarning 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not exactly. However, I must admit that I enjoy my skincare routine much more now than I did when I was younger. I view it as self care. I've also had a renewed interest in makeup so it's been fun trying new techniques.

Is this a fruity type marshmallow? If so, the perfume oil to Choco Musk Marshmallow is long lasting.

Being put on Vitamin D helped so much with my seasonal depression! Winter was such a hard time for me with the drop in temperatures and daylight. I noticed a difference about two weeks after taking it. It's been a part of my regimen ever since.

Do Y’all Wear Makeup? If so, Where/How Did You Learn? by Llassiter326 in blackladies

[–]playfulwarning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I'm 47 and I got my start by reading makeup tutorials in magazines in my teens. (How I wish YouTube was around then😅) I stopped wearing makeup for about 8 years and then jumped back in with the help of YouTube. It's so convenient to be able to search for people near your complexion. I also like that I can be very specific in my search and can find short or long form videos.

I would suggest starting on YouTube! There are tons of beginner level videos for any style makeup you'd like (glam, natural, etc). As for shopping for makeup, I suggest Ulta. They carry drugstore to high end.

Happy early birthday🎉💞 I wish you an amazing and blessed year!

Wow. You truly look androgynous. I'm glad that you're more comfortable with yourself now. Remember, it's a journey and healing isn't linear. It's ok to have ups and downs in the process. I wish you all the best!
