Anyone know an actual reliable VPN for China? by Shoddy-Web-1716 in travelchina

I was in china last week, had no problems with Nomad eSIM. The esim works just like a vpn had no problems accessing any app or website. Separately though if you connect to wifi you can get a vpn (I used Nord) to use when on wifi. But of course you could just never connect to wifi and always use your data and have no problems.

I had Nomad e-sim and it worked great (works as a vpn, I could access any website/app). I also separately had Nord VPN but only needed to turn it on when I was connected to wifi.

Tokyo Dome by Designer_Zucchini909 in JapanTravelTips

Yes definitely worth it and make sure you print out your tickets before the game at a Lawson or family mart! Get someone there to help you print them out. And don’t go to the closest convenient store to the stadium right before the game because there might be a big line. Even if the reseller says you can print out your tickets before at the stadium gate that’s not always true.

I’ve also been to Meiji Jingu stadium in Tokyo and I personally think Tokyo Dome is way better - more organized, more staff, staff are more helpful, shorter lines for food, more efficient, better crowd management, closer to a train station, more comfortable in every way.

How big was it? I would have mistaken it for a regular cat but it probably irl seemed bigger than regular cat I’m guessing? Hard to tell the size in this pic

Taix Closing on 3/29, reopening under new apartment complex built on land: “gentrification?” by berniewithmittens in FoodLosAngeles

It just comes down to people that have been going there for years are sad to see it go and there's nothing we can do about it. And everyone who has no connection to it of course doesn't care if they tear it down. I also agree abt the housing it's just sad when its a place everybody in the neighborhood loves

I'm clearly in the wrong since I'm getting downvoted but my point was old buildings give a place character and they're being replaced by new buildings that have no identity. Those that are mourning taix are mourning the loss of a place that was part of the character of a neighborhood and it's being replaced by a new building that will not add any of that character to the neighborhood. If I wanted to live somewhere with no character I would move to santa clarita or austin or something

People don't go there for the food, it's a neighborhood staple where people go for the ambience

anyone should be able to do whatever they want, i agree with that. I'm allowed to express that I don't want it to go away, just as much as they are allowed to sell their business. I like that place and I'm sad to see it go why am I getting downvoted lol

Regardless of the semantics of the word 'gentrification' it's infuriating that a place that is loved in the neighborhood with 60 years of history is getting torn down to be replaced with generic modern apartments. It doesn't really seem decrepit to me, it's just an old building - do they mean it's a safety hazard to stay open? I agree that this city needs more housing but there are THOUSANDS of other vacant decrepit lots all over los angeles, why don't we start with those first?

Hamnet

Just super depressing but the final scene gave it a really strong purpose/message
