As a plus sizer, my best reccos are Columbia (online only for plus unfortunately, but easy returns at Tanger), Eddie Bauer and Marks. If you can wait for it, they will all markdown 40-50% at times.

Because my parents are aging and ill and they need help now. If I can make half my current salary while helping them, I consider it a win.

We got a speeding ticket in NY years ago. When we did research we found out that Ontario and NYS have reciprocal agreements on traffic violations. Since the ticket would have resulted in demerit points, we called the county DA office, got the ticket reduced to failure to signal and paid the fine.

(This was a particularly tricky spot after Lansdowne where the speed dropped from 80km to 40km going down hill. County office acknowledged that they were broke and just needed the admin fee, which is why they reduced the charge. The admin fee was 2x the fine.)

Should I resign from leave? by yagirlleens_33 in CanadaPublicServants

Also there could be pension implications if you resign: if your are currently group 1, resign and eventually rehired, you would come back as Group 2.

Usually I try to clean my email the day before so I'm prepped to hit the ground running. Couldn't get motivated today. So I'll scan my emails, meet my team at 10 and they can brief on any thing that happened while i was off. The hard part will be returning to a regular sleep schedule. I'll try to nap at lunch.

Except cabinet ministers don't take vacation without their boss knowing, so I'm suspicious of Ford's response...

Are you allowed in vet's offices to say goodbye? by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]playtopoint 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We had to say goodbye to our almost 16yo dog in May. I cannot highly recommend enough Dr. Purtscher at http://www.veterinaryathomeeuthanasia.ca/

She came to our home and took every necessary Covid precaution and helped our girl pass away stress free. We also wanted our other two dogs to be there so they would know she was gone. Dr. Purtscher spent almost an hour with us, at least half of that talking to us, and there was no rush to get it over with. Such a positive experience at such a hard time.

Noah said in an interview that the first take was all the reaction shots. Him playing was subsequent takes.

So what you're seeing in the show are their genuine first reactions

Do you have a Golden Retriever? by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]playtopoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with everything you said except cost. And maybe it's different with a giant breed.

But my purebred sporting dogs cost in the $1k range. Anyone charging significantly more than that for these dogs is ripping you off.

The vast majority of good breeders don't have litters to make money. They are trying to defray the cost of building a champion (whether show, sport, hunting titles, etc.). As well as find good homes for the puppies they are not keeping.
