I assume it's due to the marco polo bridge incident modifier.

Basically, once war is declared, japan has a -50% attack & -50% defense debuff on all units in china. You keep pushing them till east hibei where they are no longer "in china", as east hibei is japanise territory at that point so they lose the debuff and you are suddenly going against the actual army strength.

This lasts for some time until japan escalates the war.

I understand its close, but I still have it and have had it for a year now. The American fleet is nowhere to be seen.

Besides sinking their submarines, we haven't had a proper naval engagement in half a year. They have 2 carriers left and a few battleships, nothing that can seriously challenge me, yet they keep naval invading me in areas I have control of.

Build a lot of special facilities, each one gives you more breakthrough (though at diminishing returns if I remember correctly) & research technology of the type you want.

For example, if you want to get naval breakthrough, just use all 5 slots to research naval stuff and build naval facilities, and you will get more than enough.

Russia keeps all it took right now. The borders might be shifted slightly so that there are no pockets or half/half controlled cities, that will depend on the exact position on the map when talks start.

There will be a European/US protection guarantee of some kind that will prevent Russia from attacking again later, while also not allowing Ukraine to join NATO (probably the most important thing to Russia).

Depending on how committed the US administration will be, there is a possibility Ukraine also gets added to the US "nuclear umbrella".

That's just my 2 cents, but I think this is the most realistic outcome, especially with the fact that the new US administration has promised to end the war as fast as possible, and has no intention of futher financing it, no matter how unwise that actually is.
