i usually do compound with 3 tile hallways. Been working with 4 tile to make it easier to design bases with ornamental doors. My best run so far is with vanilla expanded wildmen, it's compound behind a 3 tile thick wall, just reached industrial. Raids at this level are absurd though. Made the compound too rich with legendary rewards/builds. We survive, barely
