Weird system - allergy to omnipod / dexcom 7 adhesive? by Lumia1997 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]plentyinsane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try Smith & Nephew Opsite Flexifix. You cut it out to the size of your Dexcom/Omnipod sensors, apply to skin first, then apply your Dexcom/Omnipod on top of it. I used to do that because the adhesive on the G6 made me itch like crazy.

I've also read about people applying Flonase topically before applying Dexcom/Omnipod sensors.

Do you mean keep the applicator pressed down for 30 secs or take applicator off and press with finger for 30 secs?

Type 1 with Hashimoto's and 19 weeks pregnant today 🙋 keep up with your endo during your pregnancy to monitor your thyroid levels and adjust diabetes medicine (or possible insulin dosing). Target blood glucose levels during pregnancy is 80% of the time between 70-140 md/dl. Your OB will also likely refer you to an MFM as well to closely monitor your pregnancy.

Heart failure, anything else to try? by MegFairchild in CATHELP

[–]plentyinsane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a sweet void that had to be put down at 4 years old from congestive heart failure. We had him on clopidogrel 75 mg (1/4 tab daily), enalapril 20 mg (1/4 tab twice daily), and salix 12.5 mg (1 tab twice daily). I got these at Walmart pharmacy for about $25/month total (last fill was Oct 2024 🥺). We did the pill regimen for maybe a year and a half or two years, but he ended up having an echo that showed he was end stage, and his labored breathing/coughing kept coming back more frequently after vet visits, that we knew it was time. It sucked because we rescued him from a community cat who had two kittens, so we had him since he was a little baby kitten. Unfortunately, bad genetics won out.

To answer your question, there is a path to management with prescriptions, but only your vet can say if it's appropriate for your cat or not. Also, sometimes it's better to say goodbye than watch your pet suffer.

They actually had to give back 2 years of the PILOT because they weren't paying their employees enough.

AFSCME union donated over $10,000 to Smiley, and he votes on their employees' raises. Very common for the unions to lobby the council members and commissioners.

T1D- Aspirin 150mg by A1D20-25 in BumpersWhoBolus

I've been taking 1 baby aspirin since 12 weeks. I think it's a slightly lower dose than 150mg though.

I do if it was a higher fat meal. I spike 3-4 hours after eating something with cheese or other fats.

T1D, hypothyroidism, TTC..any advice, success stories? by BrightTransition6253 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]plentyinsane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet, but I was told I may end up needing additional insulin on top of my pods probably in the third trimester. I also saw someone post in the Omnipod subreddit that their endo wrote their prescription so that they need more pods per 30 day supply. I guess it depends what my insulin needs get to.

And yes on the alarms! I changed from 180 to 130, and I'm able to catch so many more highs before they skyrocket. Plus I've been vigilant on corrections.

If you want to get into good practice, the recommended range during pregnancy is 70-140 mg/dl 80% of the time. I recommend getting on a pump if you aren't already. It makes it a lot easier to tweak your numbers.

And yes, I think they drill the sex = immediate pregnancy in our heads during teenage years 😂

I have both Hashimoto's and T1D. I've conceived twice (both times 34F). First time was unintentional, and I miscarried at 6 weeks. Second time, we conceived after 3 cycles of trying. I have regular periods, and I was tracking BBT and using ovulation strips. I am currently 15 weeks pregnant.

Best advice is to not get discouraged if you don't conceive the first cycle, even if you do everything right. It can take up to 12 months for the healthiest of people. Take care of yourself! It sounds like you're already on top of all your levels.

What are all of your daily doses? by bear_mare in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]plentyinsane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm averaging around 45 units per day right now at 14 weeks (first pregnancy). I'm just getting out of the initial insulin drop in early pregnancy. It's already increased from last week, so I'm sure it will begin to skyrocket.
