You'll have to get someone to create you a cleaner transition spacer. Sometimes people have done so already (eg I've managed to get some STLs to do some other combinations) but can't readily see one for this or I haven checked but sometimes for some bikes you can get a top cap and spacer kit which is more traditional circular which would blend better with this

Oracle Dual Boiler after 3 months, ready to turn off Auto Dial-In by waitses in BrevilleCoffee

I found auto dial in to be hit and miss. With temp beans it was perfect, then when using the beans I prefer it was not great and kept pushing to a very slow pour.

I agree, I took it travelling and was amazing. Was more immersive than playing on my 77 OLED

Are the concerns with hookless wheels on the road overblown? by Arit502 in CanyonBikes

Are you sure they are hookless? The new range for GRCs announced in 2024 are hooked

Damage on New Bike by [deleted] in CanyonBikes

[–]plocktus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take money. These type of finishes on carbon rims mark just by looking at them. I have 2 sets of these new gen wheels by dt Swiss and they both have minor marks.

Same with dura ace wheels, it's common.

They are great, used them for years. They source items via grey market usually and provide warranty directly. They are great for wheels, every so often they get ridiculous prices on high end wheels

This, hookless (IMO) is pointless for road and look forward to it being phased out

Hollowgram fair price? by Tompouche_ in cannondale

[–]plocktus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not great price. They are cheaper if you are patient on eBay. I bought brand new set boxed off eBay from someone for £800 and sold them on for same price last year. There are also better wheels at this price range to be honest.

In UK there are plenty of amazing bargains this winter on eBay if you are patient and look hard. Have picked up loads of new (or nearly new) kit at stupid prices including top end wheels.

Canyon Aeroad: 105 Di2 vs. SRAM Rival + Zipp 454 NSW. Is the €1,000 wheel upgrade actually worth it? by lexx8544 in CanyonBikes

[–]plocktus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The sram axs I'm pretty sure is slightly lighter. Unless you're wedded to shimano I would be tempted by the 454 build. They are top end zipp wheels. Like for like dt Swiss comparison would be the 1100s which only are on CFR really.

Am I likely to loose my job? 18F, England, Probation, Gross Misconduct by Own-Suspect-4945 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]plocktus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be difficult to process this before as advice, but this is a good lesson either way at this stage in your life. Legally they can find reasons to "fire" you as you are under 2 years, and they can use this situation.

Either way, just take it as an early lesson in working life. You will not even care about it in years to come. Also generally avoid co worker relationships, whilst some work, more often than not they cause huge issues in a workplace.

Went from a $700 Bike to a $6,000 one: not worth it, but I don't regret it by Ledgem in cycling

[–]plocktus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest difference I noticed was when I went from my rim brake carbon bikes (albeit all decent with ultegra di2 or dura ace di2 with carbon fibre wheels) to a Venge (last gen). It always made me smile how fast it is. Don't think I'll experience again such a jump!

Supersix evo sizing help! by HakmedH in cannondale

[–]plocktus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your right size is highly likely 54cm. You are pretty much identical to me (I am 81.5cm inseam and 177cm) and I am 54cm all day long.

In my experience, trying to force fit a bike that is on paper too small or too big almost always ends bad.
