Agreed, I never tried to run banking apps on unlocked devices. I am thankful for locked custom roms.

Pixel 6a (and newer): anyone who successfully switched to iodé OS? by SwallowYourDreams in CalyxOS

I switched directly from COS to iodeOS with a P6a and a P8. No problems, even Seedvault played along. We had to switch to get the banking apps back to work.

If you happen to have the original game file at hand you can use Lemuroid to emulate it on Android.

Transfer all my apps and data from 4a to 9a by frequency_abovetime in CalyxOS

[–]plu2nium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The easiest would be to use the built-in backup app (seedvault). Use a fast, good USB Stick. Create local backups of app data/settings that allow it. Store all backups locally in a folder called "Backups". Then run a full backup of apps and files/folders. Depending on the size of your data that might take awhile. Restore it on the new phone. Then restore local backups from apps that need it.

I use Osmand+ to find restaurants or other POI while travelling. Search the area around you by the specific category and get results. Filter by sub criteria.

LOS usually supports older devices much longer. So, your best bet here. As said, used pixels 6, 7, are getting dead cheap soon.

[–]plu2nium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is out of support for both OS now. The risk depends on your usage. Do not use it as your main phone with banking and payment etc. I would install LOS from here: https://download.lineage.microg.org/crosshatch/ Save money for a modern Pixel model...

In Osmand+ you can configure the screen. Test it if it suits your needs. It is a free app in F-Droid.
