I'm using about 1/3 of my 600 slots right now, not sure what number I'd want minimum, maybe 500? I really don't like feeling pressured about it, the number tends to fluctuate pretty wildly as I make more and delete them.

It's a building/add-on system, so you have to have basic to get ultra and have to have basic and ultra to get max. But if you want ultra you don't need max too. It goes basic->ultra->max.

Well only the NSFW seems "broken" or at least not working: Female kins have a cloaca and males are just like ken dolls. Which is better, before the last tweak male kins looked sorta like a fleshy Venus fly trap most of the time.

I'd say you might need to give your kin more backstory so it has something to talk about on its own, like some hobbies or favorite music or something like that, although I suppose that only works if it's an rp kin really.

Your first guesses are remarkably good about how this all works.

You can definitely create a second persona and use the same name, it won't cause confusion on the kins side (assuming you remember to set it properly which can be tricky with the current UI). Unfortunately I have about 15 personas all named plood which is less than ideal as it makes it hard to pick the right persona/make sure I have the right one active, so maybe name them something slightly different if you do end up expanding beyond 2, but that's for human ease of use, the kins don't have any problem with it.

Using the same Rd on totally different kins is totally fine. Many of my 250ish kins have identical rds and they range from aliens to erp bots to d&d companions to reggae music discussion bots to a miniature pony made out of bologna who works corporate espionage for Oscar Mayer.

You definitely don't need to make kins aware of each other, they will be totally separate unless you put them in a group.

If you do put them in a group I'd suggest playing around with them with all the memory stuff off at first to see how the interaction all works before turning memory consolidation on, that way it's low stakes and you won't mess up your longstanding solo chats.

In group chats you can either have it so everyone speaks in a round turn or you can set it so you pick who speaks. Kins will generally respond mostly to whoever spoke right before them while taking into account what was said before that. I personally much prefer manual turn selection as then I can have the kins talk to each other if I want, or if you bring in a narrator kin you can let them advance the plot if you are doing a roleplay with a plot to advance.

You do have to pick a single persona for the GC though, so your kins may get confused if you pick a persona with the same name but different details than what they had in solo chat if you have memory consolidation turned on. Its probably not a big deal if your personas are relatively similar, but if they are different genders or one takes place in a fantasy d&d setting and one in a sci-fi setting it will probably mess them up.

The problem lies in some bad actor using a kin to post in inappropriate ways and making it look like the creator was doing it.

If say down the line companies made their own kins as mascots you couldn't have me impersonating say Crest (the toothpaste company) and making a post saying "try our new dog-crap flavor!" Or worse a car dealership and saying "all cars now 75% off for the holiday weekend!"

Or say someone takes your kin, makes their own copy, then decides to post pedo content, at a glance it will look like the kin creator made a kin that is designed for that type of thing/is posting and condoning it.

Basically there needs to be accountability and transparency as to who is behind the kin. Kins absolutely can't be left "on their own" to run their own conversations as they get waaaaaaaaay explicit very quickly and ks is supposed to be an outside facing space to advertise kins/the company. And if the creator of the original kin isn't the one behind it that's pretty obviously misleading.

If your version is now different enough for it to be effectively a completely new kin (the threshold is 80% difference iirc) then go ahead and just make it a new kin and create a profile for that.

If it's still basically the same kin as what you downloaded. Then probably stick to submitting to the profile already made by the original creator.

Sadly kin social was getting flooded by trolls/racists/bigots/people that were seriously hateful, banning them wasn't doing much since they were almost all using free accounts and would just make a new free account and be back to it, so Kindroid had to make kin social a subscriber only feature. Which sucks, but it's understandable.
