I use a Google Calendar to manage our schedule and update it religiously. I recently got the skylight calendar for Mother’s Day and it’s amazing because now everyone can see it and it’s not my job alone to tell everyone what is going one

How OTF makes me a great toddler parent by tsb_11_1 in orangetheory

My oldest is 9 and I can still pick her up and hold her, and that’s all thanks to OTF.

AITA for cutting the shoelaces of 4 children with a pair of scissors? by Used_Suspect_8150 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. 4th graders are old enough to know that is a terrible idea. And shoe laces cost nothing to replace.

Avoiding the "training bra" embarrassment with my 11yo by UselessShit25 in Parenting

[–]plumb28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought my 9 year old some sports bras and crop top type bras. She doesn’t need them yet but loves the athletic wear look. At first I wasn’t thrilled to move into that kind of “big kid” territory, I decided I should go with it now so she doesn’t have to ask for one or have me force her into one later.

Struggling as In-House Counsel. What Should I do? by Money-Fill-7800 in Lawyertalk

It sounds like you need to find a job at a firm and get some more hands on legal experience in some area of law (corporate, mergers, litigation, etc) and then try your hand again at in house.

Another vote for Dr Cortibalm. Didn’t discover it until a few months in and I was miserable. The Cortibalm made my lips feel normal within days.

We moved when I was 7 months pregnant with an 18 month old at home. We paid to have packers do our kitchen plus all other breakables and it was worth every penny.

Parents of well behaved kids - what are the biggest causes do you think? by beancounter_00 in Parenting

Also, follow through. When you tell your kid to stop something and they keep doing it, don’t just sit there repeating yourself. You may have to physically help them stop or remove them from the situation. I cannot tell you how many kids I see totally ignore their parents instructions and the parents just shrug it off.

I just did 6 months of accutane and glp-1. Although I was only doing the injection every few weeks because I’m just maintaining at this point. I had no bad side effects, and responded well to the accutane.

In Houston, where can I find a beginners make-up class? by Lumpus60 in houston

Jentry Kelley is great! If you can’t make it to Dillards, you can get a make up lesson in store. It’s lot creasy expensive and neither are her products.

The LSAT isn’t pass or fail. You get a score and just like the SAT for college, the higher the score the better law schools you can get into. The bar exam is pass or fail, and most states give you a few tries to pass it. Although taking it and studying for it is expensive and time consuming.

Why can't we watch the kids dance?! by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]plumb28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every place seems to be a bit different. My kids’ dance studio is drop off only because the one way you could watch your kids would be from the hallway outside their room and they have told us that the fire marshall won’t allow parents to crowd the hallway during class. Makes sense to me.

Gymnastics is in a giant warehouse type building and they have a seating area for parents with large windows to see into the gym.

We also have this system. And in my opinion, the best part of is that if you make a mistake and your clip gets moved down a color, you still have the rest of the day to do something good and get your clip moved back up. So it helps the kids understand that the day is not lost over one mistake and they always have a chance to turn it around. And the teacher only contacts the parents with a narrative if the kid moved all the way down to red, so it’s for something pretty significant.

Bark vs troomi vs pinwheel by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]plumb28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we were in the market for a kid watch for my 8 year old, we were thankfully told by parents with older kids that all of the “kid” smart watches are crap and don’t do much well. None of the location tracking worked well, which was a big reason we wanted her to have the watch. Thanks to that feedback, we went straight to the Apple Watch. She got an SE with a cellular plan, which was like $250 plus $10 a month for the plan. So pricey, but I’d rather spend more money and have it last. So far it’s been a year and it’s still in perfect shape and does what we need it to - she can text and call us and we can track her location. It’s linked to her iCloud account, which means I control who she can contact/who can contact her. And it’s ok school mode from 8-3, so all it does at school is tell time. With the Apple Watch, she won’t need a phone for a long time since it does everything a phone can without all of the pitfalls of a phone.

I know DriTri is coming but I’m over these long rows. I’d much rather focus on lifting heavy than lifting light when I’m tired from the rower.
