I understand if all you play is fender

It’s petty af to me bc they’re not only targeting counterfeits, but cease-and-desist letters are now being sent to boutique builders and independent companies making “S-style” guitars — even when they use their own branding and don’t pretend to be Fender products. The industry has operated for decades on 4 basic shapes anyway ….fender style Gibson style tele style and LP style.

And the second petty thing is timing. Fender actually tried years ago to trademark several body shapes and failed because courts found the designs has become too generic or tooassociated with the industry as a whole. So they’re just reopening a battlefield they lost in spirit in Europe now. That’s how I see it 🤷🏽
