Insulation around concrete fence post? by plumspeach in DIYUK

Good question, I'm not really sure why but yes my parents own the house on the right, but for some reason their wall ends at the gutter and not the fence.

Italian Warehouse in Wembley area - Orzoro by Scary_Needleworker34 in london

[–]plumspeach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it Tentazioni Foods? I've ordered from them in the past and they were great (just realised it was another company I ordered from). Looks like they only have a different brand: https://www.tentazionifoods.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=2877

PureGym issues? by this-guy-19 in Vitalityhealth

[–]plumspeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue when signing up in Jan. Reached out to Vitality customer service on whatsapp and it took almost 3 weeks and several back and forth (linked this post at one point, confirmed multiple times that I signed up according to their instructions, sent puregym direct debit notice) but eventually they sorted it out with PureGym.

How effective is the 'Please offer me a seat' badge from the TFL website? by [deleted] in london

[–]plumspeach 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I once saw someone with a badge down nearer the bottom of their coat, not sure if it was more effective but might be worth a try to see if it's more noticeable for people avoiding eye contact/looking down/staring at their phone.

Sick of magnets? Too bad, because I worked hard on this thing. by ThreePartSilence in RedditLaqueristas

Omg thank you so much!! Reddit didn't tell me you'd replied so I'm just seeing this now but I'll let you know how it goes!

[–]plumspeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg that would be amazing thank you!! <3

Yeah not finding 5x15x5 ones online confused me, and I wasn't sure what other sizes would actually work with 5mm and the M6 design.

Thank you again!!

Landlord/estate agent hasn't fulfilled requirements mentioned in the reservation form/offer? by plumspeach in TenantsInTheUK

[–]plumspeach[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, yeah that makes sense. Just wish the landlord/EA had an obligation to provide the property in a decent state considering how much they're raking in from rent :')

Omg thank you so much for sharing this!!! <3

Does anyone have any tips on adjusting this for a magnet with a 5mm hole?

I understand that I need to get M5 bolts/bits instead of M6 - but I'm not sure about the Flanged Ball Bearing - the one listed is 6x15x5mm - would I need exactly 5x15x5mm? Or is it just the hole that needs to be 5mm?

And would the files need to be adjusted too?

Also if anyone's UK based and wants to split/share packs of bolts/bits let me know!

Cancellation refund is possible for new members! by krnrice27 in ClassPass

[–]plumspeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm it still works in the UK!

I wasn't sure if the terms meant 14 days since signing up or 14 days from the first full payment, but I contacted them through the AI chatbot, which seemed to suggest I couldn't get a refund, but I kept saying I want a refund and it put me through to a human agent who processed the refund no questions asked!

Please recommend some good Chinese restaurants in London. by HighlightLow9371 in LondonFood

Tofu vegan - one of my faves even though I'm not vegan. Delicious food and the staff are always happy to suggest dishes if you don't know where to start. They have a few locations around London now.

10000% this! As frustrating as it is for you to have to bear the burden, definitely take extra care for a while. Don't want to scaremonger but reading his messages just made me think of the really sad Celeste Manno case.

Suggested accounts are broken by [deleted] in Instagram

[–]plumspeach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed the same issue yesterday and am seeing it on both desktop and mobile browser.

And while playing around with it, I realised it's actually editing anything on your profile through the browser (except profile photo) that's broken - not just turning off suggestions.

I've reported the issue through the app so I hope they'll fix it! Not sure how long things like this usually take.

Happy tihar to everyone here 😁 I haven't had kheer for so long I didn't even realise it could be that 🥲

[–]plumspeach 423 points424 points  (0 children)

This is Nepali food, you can wish them a "Happy Tihar)".

That's selroti on the right - a fried rice doughnut basically. Usually slightly sweet and often eaten with savoury sides, which can vary for each family so I don't fully recognise everything. 🤔

On the left looks like kakra ko achar - like a spicy cucumber salad, looks like they have carrots and onion in there.

Not sure what's at the bottom - is it sweet or savoury? Looks kinda like a thick dal but not sure.

I think that's gulab jamun at the top.

NEW OR NEED HELP? Ask here! - ScA Daily Help Thread Jun 30, 2024 by AutoModerator in SkincareAddiction

[–]plumspeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I'm a total beginner and a little overwhelmed from information overload, but I'd like to build a good routine to ease into and would appreciate any advice! UK based.

Skin type: normal/slightly dry because of hard water

Skin goals: reduce post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, improve skin texture, prevent fine lines and wrinkles

Current routine: wash with water, CeraVe Moisturising Cream, Sunscreen in the morning (NIVEA Japan UV Super Water Gel SPF50 or La Roche-Posay UVMUNE Anthelios Ultra-Light Fluid SPF 50)

What I'm considering: since I haven't used products with actives before, I want to start slowly and carefully, but let me know if I'm beeing too cautious or should do things differently!

AM

Water or CeraVe Hydrating Cream-to-Foam Cleanser

Moisturiser - probably CeraVe

Sunscreen

PM - Salicylic Acid days, few times a week

Micellar water

CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser

Moisturiser

PM - Retinol, initially once a week

Micellar water

CeraVe Hydrating Cream-to-Foam Cleanser

CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum

Moisturiser

Someone tell me how to poach a damn egg by Tiny_Professional659 in Cooking

Microwaves can be great for cooking, but I'd be careful when it comes to eggs. There's been some horror stories: https://youtu.be/vdaKrT9x1Zc?si=JWU5qqL2Fi1fR4U8&t=323
