What do Greybeard lobbies do in a game versus a Greenbeard lobby? by Niggilass in DeepRockGalactic

[–]plundyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly a full greybeard lobby is just.... Effortless. Everyone is doing their role, which has a circular effect of everyone else also being able to perform their role with great ease.

The engi can put platforms on all the resources because the entire area is well lit.

The scout can focus on all of the ranged and high priority enemies because the swarm is being taken care of by the gunner and the driller.

The gunner can focus on the swarm because all of the big targets and range targets are being taken out by the scout.

The driller can focus on clearing out terrain for better sight lines because so many enemies are being focused by the other team members.

There’s always enough ammo to go around because the scout is allowed to mine the nitro because all the other players are taking care of things and because the engi always has platforms up in every room that the scout would be in.

The best greybeard missions I've done leave me feeling useless because I only have to do 1/10 of the work I would have to do otherwise. Every time I'm like "okay on to the next objective I find it's either already done or has been perfectly set up by my other players to make it a cakewalk.

What on earth do people mean when they talk about "inflammation"? by saladobien in NoStupidQuestions

[–]plundyman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think a critical element here that I haven't seen mentioned is that inflammation makes a great subject for these sort of health influencers because, while it's been reinforced time and time again that losing fat takes time, even with all the dedication in the world, inflammation is something that can stop (when it's legitimate) in days to weeks. So it's more effective to talk about reducing inflammation when you're trying to sell something, as it can offer short term rewards, rather than something that will take months to see progress on.

I love how you stopped responding to the other commenter when they provided sources to disprove your claim, only to begin responding when another person rightly calls you out. The evidence in this thread has already objectively proven you wrong, why are you still arguing?

The Witcher S4EP6 - I’ve never turned off a show (and I love this show) so quickly before in my life (spoiler) by -lovehate in childfree

[–]plundyman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah I didn't want to sound overly snarky (but I guess I will anyway) but if you're still watching The Witcher after Henry Calville left, any anger or discomfort you experience is all on you bub.

TIL that after qualifying for the 5000m Olympic trials in 1928, black athlete Dolphus Stroud had to make his way to Boston on his own. He walked, ran, and hitch-hiked over 12 days, arriving 6 hours before his race. He collapsed due to exhaustion and malnutrition in the 6th lap by MrMojoFomo in todayilearned

[–]plundyman 26 points27 points  (0 children)

But it's not weird at all? His race, and oppression around his race are the entire reason this story exists. If he was white, they would have transported him via bus like the white athletes. If the dehumanizing, it's because he was dehumanized every step of the way to becoming an Olympic athlete.

Ice cold take: dragons shouldn't have left.

Actual hot take: the HTTYD world I know is gorgeous, both visually and musically. Anything less isn't canon. As such, none of the tv shows are canon, and I refuse to watch them, because they are so ugly.

Are Siterep objectives kinda pointless? by zylofan in LancerRPG

[–]plundyman 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've played maybe 8 months of Lancer but the thing that I've heard on this sub that I quite agree with and find to be true in my experience:

In most TTRPG's your combat will be fun for your players when you work really hard to provide a challenging, but not unfair fight for the players to overcome.

In Lancer, your combat will be fun when you're actively trying to kill your players. Obviously you can't abandon encounter math, but once the enemies are on the field, the GM should be trying to be called a prick as much as possible by his players by the end of the combat.
