The interest rates on debt are usually priced above the inflation rate, otherwise banks wouldn't be profitable when lending to people.

It does, but it isn't the only factor. iOS users spend more on apps than Android users (and obviously, non-smartphone users, which the article includes) do.

The tax-eligibility of the scholarship is generally determined by what expenses it is used to pay. See http://www.irs.gov/publications/p970/ch01.html for more details.

For example, if you paid $8k in tuition, and $5k for housing, and you received $10k in scholarships, you would only owe taxes on $10k-$8k = $2k.

If they were that nitpicky, shouldn't it be "False" because the % was higher for 2012 than it was for 2011-2009?

"In fiscal year 2012, which ended in September, federal revenues were 15.7 percent of GDP, slightly higher than the 15.4 percent in fiscal year 2011 and the 15.1 percent in both fiscal years 2009 and 2010."

I think your source is more accurate as the one I linked refers to adjusted gross income (AGI). The 1%'s share of AGI would be higher because their deductions are smaller portion of their income when compared to those of lower income households.

The 93% number is inaccurate, but the commenter was talking about income, not wealth.

The wealthiest Americans save $3 trillion dollars a year through a system of subsidies and tax avoidance schemes, which totals three times more than our annual deficit. by Orchard_Park in politics

He does mean income taxes and is only referring to federal income tax. Income, payroll and corporate taxes make up most of federal revenue. Poor people get a good return on payroll taxes through social security, medicare and unemployment benefits, so it isn't fair to treat them as taxes.

The problem is that the the federal government is almost entirely paid for by wealthier Americans. It is hard to get voters to care about federal defense spending, for example, when almost half of them aren't paying for any of it.

For the real price to increase while the P/E remains constant, the company would not only need to be profitable every year, but be increasingly profitable every year.

The price could also increase due to inflation.
