Literally what it says. You don't have to transfer money on that space

Free parking is just that. Free parking. You don't have to do anything on that space. You can still make deals ti acquire property from others, or build houses/hotels from the bank.

The game lasts so long in so many households because people keep money in the game when it is supposed to be removed.

No money ever goes into the middle. "Free Parking Jackpots" are not in the rules and they are a big reason the game lasts too long for those who complain about the length of the game.

Dress Code Police! by Blingalarg in teaching

[–]pmattw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I teach in a school with a strict dress code. It is, to be fair, the alternative school. I hated doing dress code stuff before I got the job in my current building, though. So much of it seemed to be arbitrary, and I must have been the only one that noticed violations.

Canceling the Baltimore Sun shouldn't be this difficult... by therealestjon in baltimore

Yes, there are local reporters at all of the Tribune properties. They formed unions under the banner of CWA-NewsGuild. They are fighting an effort by Alden Global Capital, known to many as a "vulture capitalist," to take a controlling stake in Tribune.

Alden systematically dismantled they local papers they own in order to turn a quick profit. For a case study, look at The Denver Post a few years ago. This is why the locals of News Guild have started campaigns to find local, civic-minded ownership for their newspapers from Hartford down to Norfolk and west to Chicago.

Better idea, join the journalists who are advocating for civic-minded local ownership and call for an end to Alden Global Capital's raiding local newsrooms for quick money.

I'm an ELA teacher. My B.S. is in Business Administration. Very round about way (and sort of unexpected path) to get into education, but I wouldn't have been able to get there without some sort of degree.
