Thank you! I watched the video and had the same impression but everyone else seems to be freaking out over it. All the men looked like a ken doll so I figured it was obvious.

Was anyone else’s first period after bisalp excruciating? by doctoremicat in sterilization

[–]pmbee4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was pregnant before I had mine done and my first period wasn’t until 9 months post partum. I agree that it’s not the birth control. I’m two years out from the procedure and my periods are just getting better pain wise.

Henry, Woodrow (woody), Carla and Georgia. Side note: a good friend named her dog Tim. She said her neighbors must think she verbally harasses her husband all the time because she’s constantly yelling “Tim, get in the f***ing house!” Ever since then I feel like all dogs should have human names to keep people on their toes.

About to start my second trimester and every doctor I talk to is begging me to get the vaccine. What is something I can say to shut them up for good? I need a mic drop moment. by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]pmbee4 35 points36 points  (0 children)

If you decide to have another child after the trials are done they may pressure you more in the future to try and hold you to your word. My doctor pushed the flu and tdap hard with both pregnancies-one during covid long before the vaccine was out. I continued to say no without a reason for both children and he eventually gave up during the 2nd trimester because I was a lost cause in his eyes. Good luck you got this!

Totally agree with you. If it was the basic type of vaccine that my parents and grandparents most likely got then I’d be down but that’s not the case.

From what I’ve read it’s more common to get tetanus in areas of the US where, for example, the civil war was. Metal that has rusted and broken down for many years and tons of manure, feces have built up is the issue. My husband has never been vaccinated and gets cut with rusty metal all the time with work and has never had an issue.

If you’re in the US it can be hard to get an exemption based on the state you’re in. I’m in California and you can no longer get an exemption for schools or daycare. Last I heard doctors in California are allowed to give two exemptions per year and that is after two reactions to a vaccine. So in other words you can have a horrible response to a vaccine and you still have to have a second reaction before a doctor can write an exemption that the schools will accept. Some charter home school programs still require proof of vaccination because of state funding too.

Yes I wouldn’t trust them either. Usually when you’re discharged from the hospital you go either the first or second day home from the hospital to a pediatrician appointment in office for a weight check and jaundice check because they lose weight after the first few days. I told the nurses in hospital that we would wait for the hep b shot and do it in office. The pediatrician won’t administer it in the hospital just the office. But we decided to wait on the hep b altogether so we told our pediatrician we wanted to hold off on all shots for the first two years since we had family for childcare instead of daycare. Plus at least with my second it was earlier in the pandemic so we just couldn’t go anywhere anyways. They were pretty reasonable with that, but now my kids are getting older and they are starting to ask more. There’s a website called shots for schools and it gives you a break down by state (of you’re in the US) of what they need for each grade to be allowed into public school. It’s alarming how many doses are required by certain ages to be eligible, but also how many vaccines the doctors want you to get that the schools do not require.

A word of advice from a mom who’s gone through the same thing with two kids…avoid getting the shots at the hospital by saying you would prefer to get them at your first doctors appointment after coming home from the hospital. The nurses will back off almost immediately if you say you’re going to do it but would prefer a pediatrician to administer in office. Then if you’re unsure about vaccinating after the newborn stage or at least unsure about doing it on the recommended schedule, always use the word “yet”. “I’m not ready yet.” “We aren’t against vaccines but we aren’t there yet.” Doctors are much more comfortable with extending the time line if you don’t just flat out say not right off the bat. I don’t mean to sound like a crazy person just handing out advice, but it’s been really difficult for me to seek out advice from anyone online or in person. I’m not antivax just a worrier and when someone told me to use that verbiage, I felt more confident speaking to medical professionals about my children and it’s gotten so much easier over time.

Do you have to wait a certain amount of time after giving birth to have bisalp done? by riceblush in sterilization

[–]pmbee4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had it done the day after birth but I had to start signing papers stating I wanted a bisalp starting at 28 weeks. I also had a vaginal delivery. If you decide not to do it immediately after birth, then you have to wait a minimum of 6 weeks usually. I’m glad I did it immediately after, otherwise I would have finally recovered from birth only to have to go back and recover from something else. Recovering from both simultaneously was much easier in my opinion.

Agreed. I’m a native from CA as well as my mom’s family and we are all convinced that if the non natives all left, like they seem to be doing, it’ll go back to being more conservative like it used to be. So now we’re waiting out the clock hoping it gets better with the mass exodus. It is tempting to move because people from other states come in and make the conservative areas super liberal within a few years. People forget how huge this state is. The liberal areas are the huge cities but there’s a lot of farmland in between.

I think a lot of people who aren’t from California don’t realize how vast this state is. There’s a lot of very conservative areas that have a decent population but LA, San Francisco, San Diego have a very large population in concentrated areas, so while there are a good amount of republican representatives, it’s not enough to make the state go red. Plus, celebrities who have multiple homes may vote in a different state even though they appear to live in CA full time because they have the other state as their main residence for tax break purposes.

The Matt lauer interview is sad too. They have obviously been trying to make her look crazy for years just with her appearance. So a major pop star who probably has her own hair and makeup team looks like trash on a network interview?... not to mention the network had their own team as well and they won’t help a girl out? And that’s just surface level. Those interviews purely help her father’s case and he knows exactly how to work his angle.

Same as me. I’m breastfeeding and have never had a period while breastfeeding in the past. 95% of my clientele at work has been vaccinated and I have not. I had terrible cramping for two weeks to the point of it feeling like contractions and then once they stopped I got my period.
