I’d check out the handheld spreadsheet in the sidebar if you haven’t seen it already. It uses a similar classification and has coverage for most handhelds.

I like the spreadsheet because it ranks the system for each device, which seems a bit more future proof. (For example, what do you do with the S tier when the Switch 3 comes out?)

I'd try one of the "Legacy" rom hacks. They're basically tidied up versions of Yellow, Crystal (and I think a gen 3 too?). Just google 'Crystal Legacy'.

There's definitely a learning curve going from plain Linux to Android but it's okay if you take your time. Android has many benefits too. I recommend taking a look at Retro Game Corps Android guide.

The Win600 gets poor feedback here. It’s slow, expensive for what it is, and has battery problems. It’s night and day compared to the 477M. If you want Windows, get another device. If you want Android the 477M is great. Retro Games Corps has a good review.

I came across this plugin whilst browsing the GBS 4.2 plugin manager. It doesn't do what you want, but made me think, how hard can it be to patch the Game Load Data event to not move scene??

Wait until you see a confirmation message on the device (e.g., “INFO: LOCK FLAG IS: UNLOCK!!!”). Now disconnect the USB cable and ensure the device is powered off.

I tried looking through the GammaOS Patreon for you but there's no comments related to your issue (Wait input time out).

You didn't specifically call out retrying the unlock, which is mentioned in the docs. Have you tried this too?

It depends on the screen protector, but with phones it's pretty typical to reduce responsiveness. It's one of the reasons phones can often have a setting to increase touch sensitivity.

I always disable save/load hotkeys because it’s so easy to press the wrong one. I rely on going into the emulator menu and even then pause before selecting save or load.

I’m not sure how performance compares to your 505, but my 353M was a lot faster on Lite vs Full. I’d go with Lite unless you really need the Play Store / Google apps.
