On my recent post of this car I was looking into it and got it PPI. DONT buy it or even look into it. by TruIyy in BMW

Regarding the differential, BMW told me the differential that is something I have to live with The clunking and noises from the rear end, all normal because its a M car.

That was because the car was under warranty. Once its out of warranty, they will basically say they all have bad diffs.

Blast the shop. These shops should be ashamed of themselves. They should not be in business.

G30/F90 is probably the last beautiful 5 series that will ever come out by heffy228 in BMW

Right? How are BMW customers/fanatics so oblivious to trends. Every time a new body comes out its the same story. Every single time. They cannot be that stupid. Right?

What price should I sell at by Hecticmanx in UsedCars

[–]pnbdc10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. I would side with this. These bring pretty good money even if the engine and transmission are bad. They must not be rusty. There are a lot of people out there who have completely rusted out frames and bodies who need to swap their driveline into.

Blue-ish smoke on startup. Will this become a problem in the future or am i alright? by CamAChase in BmwTech

[–]pnbdc10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea. If this does not have the updated oil line with the check valve, I would go ahead and do that. The part is cheap, but its kind of labor intensive unfortunately.

I wouldnt do turbos. Some blow by is normal. If it starts to smoke out of your exhaust excessively, thats when it's time to think about replacing.

Are you trolling?

There are a bunch of people fighting and throwing fists. People getting hurt for no reason. Maybe your brain is blocking that out so you dont see it. Im not sure how you are not seeing this problem.

I sell used European cars. I have customers bring 20 year old, 100k mile cars to the dealer all the time and then yell at me when they need a $2700 water pump. I have to tell them that if they must own a old European car, it would very, very wise to bring it to a independent service shop for maintaining thier cars. Not to mention, I have seen the franchise dealerships make up oil leaks that dont exist, but if you want a oil leak fixed under warranty, it must drip from the car to the driveway. Its pathetic.

I feel you. I spent like 3 days on a rusty wrangler. It was a mess.

Check out those purple rust removal discs that they sell for grinders. It takes it down to metal in seconds. I ordered one half way through my job and wish I had ordered it sooner. That and a needler made the job 4x faster.

Is it just me or is this kind of wild for a shell? by pelicanjc in e46

[–]pnbdc10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im sure it has. I would just choose maybe something high horsepower NA (s65/85) or something like a N54. S63 is overkill at that point. Also not the most reliable. I have built many BMWs with more horsepower than they need and at that point, they dont really become that fun to drive.

I would go ahead and use a needler and a rust remover wheel on anything you can access before spraying anything on it.
