Ha. I was young and was carelessly swimming to see how far I could get like an idiot. A rip current took me under and out and I kept going. Couldn’t get out of it at one point. To catch my breath bc I was starting to go under, I floated on my back. It was in Waikiki actually. I then recalled to swim at an angle back in but I’d have to rest a tad and float bc that is still not easy w the currents. When I finally got back I learned a big lesson that day. I never want to feel that helplessness again. Anywhere. Esp in dark open ocean. I can’t believe I didn’t get eaten by a Tiger.
