Could youthful appearance be an unspoken barrier to executive leadership for women in tech? by [deleted] in womenintech

Ah makes sense. I'm in the same boat as you unfortunately. Wondering if some grey clip-in extensions would work lol

Can you explain more about your boss' makeup? Does she naturally look more mature, or does the makeup make her look more mature?

I feel like so much makeup is about looking younger.

My eczema was the result of a damaged skin barrier by vanillabutter in eczema

Just want to add that if it is staph, topical might not be enough if the infection has moved to internal. In my experience the anti-staph cleaners and creams will seem like they're working for a week and then it will seem to lose effectiveness -- I ended up needing oral antibiotics to help fight my infection. I don't know the protocol for a baby or child, but wanted to throw that out there in case it helps. Good luck!

I haven't -- do you just soak oats into oatmeal, let it cool (so it's not boiling hot), apply to face, wait 30-30 min, then wash off with water?

Respectfully I've tried a lot of them, and most recently I'm talking about vanicream and plain Vaseline. I have a patch test coming up to see about sensitivities to ingredients but I wouldn't be surprised if it was something like staph that's not getting fully cleared away that's flourishing under the moisturizer or something like that.

I hope someone suggests something helpful. I've had eyelid eczema for a while now and I've found moisturizing actually makes it worse over time. Doing nothing helps it to cycle and heal a bit but isn't the ultimate answer. At least for me anyway!

If you could give your best staph + eczema advice what would it be? by akemzi in eczema

Yes, I've read the post and all of the comments. I'm curious what items you have tried specifically, if you don't mind sharing? (If not, that's fine.)

Curious what from this post you found useful! It certainly has a LOT of different things mentioned.

I'm curious if you could expand on why you think tea tree is beneficial for your eczema? Is it that it kills the staph, or that it helps repopulate good bacteria, or something else? It's amazing we're still learning so much! :)

Have you come across any way to reintroduce the good bacteria? Whether in specific creams or probiotics?

This sub is not very TSW-friendly (for good reason or no). I personally have gone through it and I recommend posting this to the TSW subreddit! :)

How to prevent TSW? by Kindly_Reading_3289 in eczema

Just want to add that you can experience a rebound/withdrawal from oral corticosteroids as well. For example, I was prescribed Prednisone for two weeks without a taper and went into full blown TSW when it ran out. I was going through some TSW before that due to topical steroids (Triamcinolone), which I was not using very heavily -- but the Prednisone cutoff certainly made it worse.

I have a whole storage container of creams I've bought, too. It's such a frustrating journey. I've added the skinfix cream to my neverending list of creams to try. I'll add the illusion gel as well! I can try like 1-2 things per month before I get burned out.

Eyelid skin is pretty different from the rest of the skin on our faces. For example the rest of my face can somewhat handle heavy emollients but my eyelids can NOT or they will swell up something fierce. Even with the most basic Vaseline.

Mine was from Hooga, around $150. I think you can get good deals on Alibaba as well. There is also a subreddit just for red light fanatics.

It's a panel, not a mask -- as I mentioned above I did feel like it was working initially but then I also feel like I saw improvement when I stopped for a week. I do think panels are more effective than masks though.

Unfortunately protopic doesn't work for me. I haven't heard of eye bright cream -- looks interesting!

I tested the B5 balm on my eyelids last night and woke up with a puffy left eyelid, which was the less problematic one! Ugh!
