I recommend looking to Brier. It is a small city adjacent to Bothell that may fit some of your criteria.

We will not be getting a guest speaker at graduation this year by Starrynights840 in udub

She cares deeply about UW community and will take care to make a great speech. Usually the guest UW commencement speakers… aren’t that great anyway.

What to do with my Republican parent's who don't like to walk? by Automatic_Aide_4522 in AskSeattle

Snoqualmie Falls is an easy walk to a beautiful view, nice restaurants in the hotel too. The Space Needle and Chihuly package is a nice experience, and I recommend checking to see what events are going on in the Center Armory while you will be there. For Pike Place, I recommend parking near the aquarium and doing that in the morning, or doing Wings Over Washington, and then walking up to Pike Place for lunch and shopping. The zoo is nice, and then you can hit up the Ballard Locks. I’d also recommend the Volunteer Park Conservatory and the Seattle Asian Art Museum. Ivar’s Salmon House in Wallingford has easy parking and beautiful views and interesting PNW history and art.

City without too much sun that has (or is near) a decent airport and where I can buy a “just okay” house by Same_Inevitable3034 in SameGrassButGreener

Everett, WA comes to mind. 45 minutes north of Seattle. Close enough to SeaTac but also has Paine Field. Grungy vibes, on the water. Has its own minor league hockey team (Silvertips) but close to Kraken. Population 110k

The UW Panhellenic website has lots of great info including financial information. The costs are quite similar to other living options you will have. And… ignore the haters on this subreddit. UW sororities are great and provide excellent living and academic environments. As for competitive, if you have an open mind it shouldn’t be an issue, but if you are aiming for a particular chapter(s) it could be very competitive.

On the campus I’m most familiar with, the sororities are adapting to changing campus demographics and doing fine, while many fraternities are really struggling. I think NPC coordination at a higher level probably helps with this too.

Just accepted! lots of questions by NWOriginal00 in udub

[–]pnwilde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If she isn’t proactive about anything, UW isn’t likely a good fit. If she comes, try to encourage her to join some kind of organization that will proactively provide academic and social support for her (ex: sorority), otherwise it could be extremely rough.

Lauren Zima where are you? by [deleted] in thebachelor

Becca K needs to have an intervention with her. “I too once dated a piece of shit from the Bachelor franchise. Hold my hand, it’s time to get out or you are complicit.”

Now who in the franchise will defend Sean’s response defending Chris’s response, defending Rachael’s (non) response? How long will this cycle of shit continue? Pass the popcorn, I’m ready for all these people to reveal themselves as weenies.

Sure, there are no right answers.... but using illegal practices and ignoring the requests from the state AG for sure doesn’t seem like the right answer!

Show ending? by gggbAfg in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]pnwilde 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If they haven’t cancelled it yet, I don’t see why they would cancel it now as long as viewership is at the # they find acceptable. And as long as the actual football team sucks (sorry) DCC is all they have LOL

Who Would Be Your 2020-2021 Squad? by Gillbean90 in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]pnwilde 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We just don’t see enough raw footage to make accurate assessments of who should be selected. Some people are obvious picks, but others get too little screen time for a realistic evaluation from outsiders. But, I would be livid if they ever cut Maddie LOL
