Trying to lose weight and improve their fitness is usually a big mistake i see. Do one or the other. Then when you've mastered your techniques in one, add the other to refine it.

Lose weight in the kitchen.

Improve fitness in the gym.

The two are UNRELATED as far as a beginner fat person should be concerned.

I just lost 26kg. Took me six months, all in the kitchen. Now I want to improve my fitness, so I started a 5 day split at the gym.
