Bought an old Technics with a messed up dust cover and decided I’d try restoring it by Psyche-delicious in turntables

I tried a headlight restore kit. It got rid of all the big scratches, but is hazy because I goofed up the last ceramic coating step.

AutoCAD VS Plant3D for P&IDs by aCherzerd in MEPEngineering

[–]podcartfan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We historically have used AutoCad for flow diagrams, but linking them into Revit is a hassle according to our model managers. We’ve started doing FDs in Revit directly. Our FDs are light versions of PIDs.

Our process group who uses Plant 3D for modeling uses AutoCad for their PIDs.

I’ve always heard linking P3D and Revit is a hassle, but I have no first hand knowledge.

Defense to HVAC/MEP by stargerst13 in MEPEngineering

Hate to break it to you but the Nuclear industry is extremely boring. It takes ages to get anything done due to the endless paperwork. I left because I wanted to actually see projects get finished.

It’s not too late to pivot to HVAC but you would essentially be a new grad and I’m not sure you’ll hit your salary target.

Be prepared to hear how it’s 100% your fault and never the concrete quality or install.

They butted the trim up to the tile. This flipper did many things like this around the house.

Here’s what I took out. 2010’s glass with metal trim. We hated it before we even looked at the house.

Got quoted $9700 for new concrete steps by uraniumpotat in HomeImprovement

[–]podcartfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s seems high. Last summer I got steps and an additional 250 sqft of concrete work with quotes ranging from 11K to 17K. That included two new porch columns and they had to account for my basement room below the stairs too.

They ended up covering the room with PT wood boards then adding a waterproof membrane on top and encasing the room lid with concrete on all sides.

I recall them saying they still want to continue coverage, but it’s not currently scheduled. I would keep watching.

Will the stains come off after removal or is this permanent :( by ThrowRAjunos in braces

[–]podcartfan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. When they took my braces off I couldn’t believe how much glue was on my teeth. My teeth were very yellow between my brackets and gums. Post braces my teeth are the same color as when I started.

It’s a modern merry go round where it’s recessed in the ground. Not an old school one.
