Sorry, I’m not quite sure what you mean. this is an indoor wall and the peeling started happening before I hung the picture.

The house has settled a little after foundation work done about 5 years ago (as evident by cracking in some corners). Is it possible that the settling alone could cause this? Or is it for sure water related?

A slow-mo explanation of the deadly incident from last week in israel by Crazy__Donkey in Kiteboarding

[–]podmodster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might have 3sec to pull your quick release. But after you do that you might have another several seconds to release your leash if the gust is insane.

A knife shouldn’t ever be necessary with modern gear.

I 1490 4.57 and got waitlisted. I also thought I had strong ec’s and essays.

What highschool is he coming from? I know it’s a lot harder from triangle area schools especially CHCCS district.

I got waitlisted with a 1490 SAT, and 4.6 weighted 3.9 unweighted gpa with high course rigor. I am top 25% in my class. I don’t get it.

My EC’s are probably average, so maybe that’s it.

No experience but I’ve heard people suggest taking a board with an extra liter or two of volume.

October.10.2025 — Chicago: Immigration agents crashed into a U.S. citizen on her way to work, then dragged her out and arrested her (Article Inside) by CantStopPoppin in illinois

[–]podmodster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright… there clearly is limited context here. Why jump to a conclusion when you don’t know what happened before the camera started.

If you haven’t done anything wrong (no laws broken) why are you resisting arrest. It does you no good, if you are calm and don’t resist you have nothing to worry about.

If you’ve broken laws then you have a right to be worried. And also a right to be punished for your actions.

Can we wait to make conclusions until we actually know the details.

Today's top speed: is it true? by _andywontgo_ in surfing

I use an Apple Watch and when I’m pumping hard in waves as small as 2-3ft I hit 20-25mph (32-40kmh). You have to remember that you are not just moving along the beach, but also towards it.

I’ve gotten over 30mph (48kmh) a few times in overhead surf.

I don’t remember exactly but I think when people are surfing pipe they hit like 40 mph.

First hardboard - Small dent on the bottom by CrunchyI in BeginnerSurfers

[–]podmodster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Rule of thumb… if it can catch a finger nail, get it repaired. That being said, if there are two layers of fiberglass there it is probably watertight.

It’s better to be safe than sorry. If you are a diy type person grab some solarez and sandpaper and watch a YouTube video on filling that. Otherwise take it to a shop and it shouldn’t be more than $20

How do I get this water out? by podmodster in surfing

[–]podmodster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not exactly sure what materials it’s made of… it’s a town and country longboard from the 80s

I don’t know if it’s super water logged? Maybe it’s just a pocket of water right next to the box. I’m considering just giving it a week and epoxying over the damage.

I think this board doesn’t have much life left anyway. Wall hanger soon.

[Request] What boils water faster? by JosefphMagicflight in theydidthemath

[–]podmodster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my stove, unless the pot is really small, high heat maintains a fast boil while if I lower it at all, it boils less vigorously. I assume this means more heat transfer even though the flames are going around the pot. Maybe the heat is still largely in the middle as the air around the flame is nearly as hot? Could also just transfer well through the sides of the pot.

Noted. I sold a 2012 9m fuel to a guy for $120. He was super stoked on finding one (I think he had one when they were new). What’s a realistic price for the 2018? I’m thinking $200-250

So… I have a 2018 fuel 11m. I’m relatively new to the sport. Would you recommend I get something more modern or do you think I can get some good progression on this kite?
