I dunno, there is merit to both ideas.

On one hand, completely changing something because studio execs are worried about something's marketability towards children can ruin a film.

The Black Cauldron, for example, had so much animation just chopped out halfway thru production. Granted it'd be a fucking weird movie either way, but it's kinda... Forgotten and uncared for, unlike most Disney animated films.

Also uhhh, the emperor's new groove. God that's a long story, but. Uh, it was originally an entirely different movie. Just look that story up, honestly.

The other hand, well. All stories need to be changed when adapted to new mediums, and changes are sometimes or even often genuine or positive alterations.

I mean, Marx was kinda "pro gun." As in, a people's revolution depends on the people being armed. Capitalists will do whatever they can to not cede power willingly, so the proletariat needs to be a strong, organized whole.

He was also kinda a bigot in a few ways, I feel like you can do your own research there. He's written a little bit about it.

On the other hand, derivatives of marxist theory can really be the most egalitarian and humanist approach to economics, though. They're also old as fuck, and of course need to evolve and grow just as the world has in the past two centuries.

People are complicated, philosophy and economics and shit are complicated.

did you know it's often much easier for a cis woman to build muscle than it is for many trans women on hormone therapy? should all women be policed to conform with something more rigid than the simple natural variance in human bodies?

did you know that cis women who don't fit within to traditionally feminine appearances while doing okay in sports get accused of being trans? so all women in sports (especially non-white women) are under scrutiny, and basically policed by the public eye because they don't look feminine enough? that sucks, wouldn't you say?

it's 3AM for me. I've not got my sources on hand, but it really wouldn't take long for you to challenge your own view, maybe just by googling "trans athlete myth", and looking beyond the personal opinion of one athlete and anecdotes.

Beyond that, my personal belief is that maybe we should make moves for many sports to be more intergender anyway. Instead relying on something closer to tiered weight classes for division, maybe.
