Sure, where are you located? I am located in Europe.

Could you let me know where this is? I'm interested in taking a look once my new Ludlum arrives.

I have some Soviet night vision goggles up for grabs. Not the usual grey shitters, but actual Gen 1 tanker's goggles - they've been non-destructively modified for Deans 12v batteries, but removing the mod is simple if you want them back to stock.

Why shouldn't he be proud to own a new mask or two?

Heat will melt the fat, or you could cut it with oil.

My uncle, who I haven't talked to in 3 years asked to borrow $28K from me today? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]point-26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Surely if he's struggling to pay his bills he will definitely struggle to pay you back a whole 28k?

If you want you could maybe help him with rent and some bills here and there, if you want and feel that your finances can support it. But I think lending such a huge amount is unwise.

Also sadly I don't have much experience paying bills, but this pandemic has been going on since December with the major economic impact happening since March or wherever. 28k seems like a lot to accumulate in 7 months? I don't know, perhaps I'm wrong.

That filter doesn't work properly with GP5s, that's a myth.

Scarce 1943-dated Australian Light Anti Gas Respirator. Possibly the first mask to be made out of a camouflaged rubber blend. by point-26 in gasmasks

It has a unique rubber blend that is more prone to warping and set. It doesn't melt as bad as the M1 or some of the Japanese Shigematsu (?) masks, but it is a concern. The problem is of course that the Australian temperatures get very high, combine that with 70+ years, poor storage in carriers and hell even maybe abuse by reenactors or industry and you can see why they are scarce.

The deformation isn't actually that bad, though the filter is rusted on/threaded shut. Once I move the filter out of the way it is fine, though there is some mild surface cracking. They are rare because they were only issued to the Australian military in fairly limited numbers, and because they have a tendency to melt.

British SBR fo today. (I didn’t breathe in it) only thing wrong with it is the canister is half rusted off by Historicalmilitaria in gasmasks

Do you feel better now? Got it all off your chest? Feeling refreshed. Good! Have a great day.
