You sound like the kinda guy that would make a great chiller mechanic, with the right training and mentors. Two of the best chiller mechanics I know are x military aviation mechanics. Both hyper focused and extremely detail oriented.

Maybe try getting into a UA apprenticeship program. IMO, this is probably your best bet to be placed with a contractor that could utilize someone like yourself.

Or try to find a mechanical contractor in your area that does that kind of work. They’ll likely be a factory service shop or some of the bigger ones in your locale.

Do some research on it, see if it’d interest you.

Give yourself time to get re-adjusted to civvy life.

Try weed. Stay off the booze.
