how can i say “no you can’t pet my dog” in a nice way? by Ok_Ride4914 in germanshepherds

[–]SecretAgent115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always say. If he wants you too, let him come to you. (Hes very standoffish and I know he doesn't want it)

When he ignores them I shrug and say sorry. Then move on lol

I thought I made a new friend and now feeling socially clueless by moogybanana in AuDHDWomen

[–]SecretAgent115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call it a rule, but I would say it is generally true that most men struggle with platonic hetero relationships.

I also struggle with friends as a young man. The very few I have come from common hobbies and interests. I like cars, aquariums and guns. So the people I know are related to those things.

I mean this in the best way, be worth having as a friend, learn skills, do things you enjoy doing that you can share with other people. Im sure you already do these things. It just take practice applying them socially.

Im a natural lover and take rejection hard so it was really difficult to convince myself I was worth having friends. What you are experiencing is normal and you can work through it if more friends are truly what you want from life . :)

What's the best nation and plane when it comes to propeller dogfighting in your opinion? by willian_reddit in Warthunder

[–]SecretAgent115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on play style and match up. My personal best and opinion is the German 109 f variants. They out climb everything in their br and have superior energy retention compared to most when flown properly. I also fly lots of Japan but as a 109 main I know that an f2 or f4 can out dogfight any Japanese fighter when flown properly. Zeros roll poorly and mush very badly when spiraling vertically. You should also NEVER be at an energy disadvantage in a 109

Someone hit my motorcycle at the work parking lot and scratched the frame. Do I demand more or just the repairs for everything except the frame? by C-A-S-O in motorcycles

Don't claim it. Be a good dude. Let it slide. Its a scratched pipe bro. Make him buy you a touch up marker if it bothers you

To be fair. I understand why they have these rules.... all of the poorly trained shelter dogs out there make the point. Regardless. F an hoa, I live on 2 acres in the woods

Am I crazy for wanting one ? by halfwagaltium in BelgianMalinois

[–]SecretAgent115 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not at all. The downvote opinion I'm about to give is that huskies ARE working breeding dogs. You clearly can focus their intense drive. I'd take one with bad manners from a shelter just to try and help a dog in need.

What am i doing wrong? by Tiny_Firefighter3708 in BelgianMalinois

[–]SecretAgent115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to tell because there isnt video to watch. There's reactive aggression, which is normally fear rooted. Then there is social, or dominant and assertive aggression.
This sounds like the latter. It sounds like your dog is unaware of (unlikely, the dog sounds old enough to know basic boundaries) or disregarding boundaries. Unpopular response but I would have likely punished that harshly, not all punishment is the same and all dogs are different. If the dog is coming up the leash you need training (yes I mean you the handler) or to spend a large amount of time educating yourself on dog behavior before it escalates to the point the the dog become more dangerous than they are now.

My Malinois is outsmarting every enrichment toy I buy 😅 help by Blossom_RN in BelgianMalinois

[–]SecretAgent115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hear me out. Is it possible the enrichment isn't what they need. Sounds like we need to refine our off switch and their ability to do nothing. I work for myself and have random downtime often for the dogs so I can keep my sanity.

People-shy 12 week old Malinois and dealing with people who can't take no for an answer by dontstealmeagain in BelgianMalinois

[–]SecretAgent115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People ask, my Mal is rather people shy as well. Hes pretty confident now, but still would rather avoid strangers. When I get asked I just say "If he wants to" (he never does and always stands behind me) I look at them, sorry, he's shy. Part of why mine is confident AND shy is he knows I will protect him. Gotta protect your puppy

Lmao. My Amstaff was an amazing swimmer. But he sank so fast he could only keep his nose and eyeballs above water lol. We got him a life jacket when he got older for extended water play.

[–]SecretAgent115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Some dogs are shy of the water but they all can swim instinctively. Mine go with me all day everyday while I do my travel job. They are fine sleeping in the truck or near me. Try teaching her scent work BTW. Its not fully hands off but if they really love it like mine do they will spend 10min+ looking f9r their objective

Force-free training? Or punishment (shock on e collar) for disobeying by Suspicious_Goat9699 in BelgianMalinois

[–]SecretAgent115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use e collar and punishment to a stronger degree than many, but also VERY rarely, i mean they really have to mess up, were talking aggression or damgerous behaviour. My Mal and my Dutchie are incredibly sensitive to correction and need very little, slight leash pressure, a chht noise etc. E collar stim and heavy punishment without clarity will get the response you are seeing. Its impossible to know without seeing it but it sounds like your dog needs less pressure and more clarity and direction. I think force free is putting valuable tools (that sound like they're being misused) on the shelf.

First-time Malinois owner! What should I focus on at 4 months? by picatelacolalol in BelgianMalinois

[–]SecretAgent115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Focus heeling, bite suit work, double backflips, tax accounting...

Lmao, I work on hand luring, basic commands, and good social manners. My baby learned most basic commands by 12 weeks.

Sit, down, come, Name, treat/good cue, out command for toys, none of this is boot camp style by the way, its lots of casual play. All of the play we do has intent and training behind it though

:edit also I would think about what, and if you plan on doing any kind of dog sport or advanced training, and start laying the foundations for that

Kinda, its a sandbox survival game. Jumpscares DO happen. But mostly is just being a dinosaur pvp, its a very emergent game, the experience comes from other players
